John the chef is fabulous. Crab fritters are perfect. Haddock and crab amazing and my steak was perfect. If you are any where near here go for dinner!!
Management is rude and they are grossly understaffed
The bartender/waitress, Beth, was magnificent and truly professional! She was very personable and super friendly!
I have been to this restaurant over half a dozen times, THREE times now, the head Chef, John has come out to check on the meal and make sure his customers were satisfied!
For was good but nothing that warranted the price point. Service was terrible, asked 2 separate servers for waters and never got them. Food took awhile to come and we witnessed many other tables sit for over half an hour for drinks.
This was our first time eating there. The ambience was wonderful. There were no other patrons there at the time. It took a bit to be greeted. However, once we were, it was a great experience. Taylor L was very friendly and took very good care of us. They had a Valentine's Day special which was more than what we wanted to eat but she said if there was something on that menu we were interested in, we could do a la carte. I got the braised lamb shank meal which was melt in your mouth delicious. My husband got the blackened steak melt with fries which was also very tasty. Then we shared the strawberry shortcake which also didn't disappoint. The shortcake was homemade with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. It was a great way to end our experience. We will go back again!
Fine dining experience, 80s vibe, food is good, service was very good.

The service was decent but that was the worst steak I ever had. I wouldn’t have paid 10 dollars for that thing. Looked like it was boiled in a pan. Zero flavor and smelled like dog food. If it’s 7 pm on a Saturday night and the place is empty that’s a good sign that the food is terrible.
One of a kind experience in this area. Loved the history of the building and the atmosphere. Our server Monica was excellent and very attentive. Food was amazing as well. Not for kids. Definitely a date night place to just get away and relax.

There were a lot of good ideas on the menu, and I think they are capable of putting out good food, but the experience was overall disappointing. The vegetable of the day (Corn) and on menu Asparagus were very boring, the pork was a bit overcooked and burned when I got it. The potato sides were solid, the salmon was well cooked, and the member of our party who got the pasta was happiest. A bit more attention to detail on the food could make this into a great restaurant.

We sat out back which was a lovely patio covered with a canopy of wisteria. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was sub-par. My meal of scallops was inedible and our server struggled to get our orders right. It wasn’t busy so not sure what the problem was.

Pure history on the Square! I had the opportunity to see the bedroom where James Buchanan grew up. Although he's not on the list of greatest US Presidents, he was a president! The food was delicious and our server, Hanna, was a kind and attentive as could be!

People should be aware that this place is not what it used to be. We have visited many times when the previous manager/staff/chef were there. We had not been in several months and went in this weekend. The staff member we got as our server was not knowledgeable about the menu and did not know what was unavailable. They took over 50 minutes to serve our cold appetizer. We were told that the 4 tables who came after us had tickets ahead of ours. Staff argued when we asked why that was the case when we had been seated first and had a reservation. We ended up leaving and went to pay for the food/appetizer that we received. They did not offer any compensation for our experience. The outside space is lovely and we will miss it.
