One of a kind experience in this area. Loved the history of the building and the atmosphere. Our server Monica was excellent and very attentive. Food was amazing as well. Not for kids. Definitely a date night place to just get away and relax.

There were a lot of good ideas on the menu, and I think they are capable of putting out good food, but the experience was overall disappointing. The vegetable of the day (Corn) and on menu Asparagus were very boring, the pork was a bit overcooked and burned when I got it. The potato sides were solid, the salmon was well cooked, and the member of our party who got the pasta was happiest. A bit more attention to detail on the food could make this into a great restaurant.

We sat out back which was a lovely patio covered with a canopy of wisteria. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was sub-par. My meal of scallops was inedible and our server struggled to get our orders right. It wasn’t busy so not sure what the problem was.

Pure history on the Square! I had the opportunity to see the bedroom where James Buchanan grew up. Although he's not on the list of greatest US Presidents, he was a president! The food was delicious and our server, Hanna, was a kind and attentive as could be!

People should be aware that this place is not what it used to be. We have visited many times when the previous manager/staff/chef were there. We had not been in several months and went in this weekend. The staff member we got as our server was not knowledgeable about the menu and did not know what was unavailable. They took over 50 minutes to serve our cold appetizer. We were told that the 4 tables who came after us had tickets ahead of ours. Staff argued when we asked why that was the case when we had been seated first and had a reservation. We ended up leaving and went to pay for the food/appetizer that we received. They did not offer any compensation for our experience. The outside space is lovely and we will miss it.

This place is lovely. We enjoyed dinning here with the previous owners. Glad it has reopened. Music selection should be according to the time of dinning. A bit more training for everyone concern. Our server was most pleasant but needs to be more knowledgeable on menu, wine, etc. The chef needs to learn techniques if he is going to reheat food. I thought I would try the lamb sausage, they were so overly cooked, dry and hard. As far as seasonings our brunch had no pop or flavors. Extra care of presentation is always a plus.We will return to give another try.Parking: Other than parking on the street which all depends on when you go you may have meter parking. If you go in the alley beside there is a small parking area in the back, which is free.

Very nice seating area outside at the back of the restaurant. The Pittsburgh steak salad was awesome with honey lime dressing. The one waitress was very busy. I recommend!

Now, I'm a tough critic as I've been all over. The steak and pork chops are absolutely fantastic! The kitchen got a bit behind for some guests while we were there. Manager Shawn was brilliant! I will DEFINITELY go back my next time through that way!

It was a Tuesday evening, a little after 7:00. There were people at the bar and at least 3 tables in the front dining room. We asked to sit in the beer garden in the back. We waited 10 minutes for anyone to come speak to us and take our drink and dinner order. We watched another table get seated near us and get drinks before we did. Then another group came into the back and was getting drinks and food brought to them- seemed to be one of the owners. We got our drinks after 20 minutes, placed an order for an appetizer and waited another 30 minutes. Nothing. We got up and left. I told the man who appeared to be the owner that we were leaving because of terrible service as we walked by him- he only said, “Oh, that’s too bad.”. We went to the bar, found the man who’d taken our orders, gave him a $20 for the drinks and told him we were leaving. He only said, “Oh, ok. See ya.”.This was ridiculous and the lack of concern from the staff was just insulting. Top 2 worst dining experiences ever. Can’t even rate the food because we never got it.

Chef Eric is a master! We always love coming in to see what he has to offer. We've celebrated out anniversary and engagement here, we've celebrated New Years Eve here, Christmas eve, and several fun date nights. We love JB♡

We were there for dinner recently. Cozy atmosphere - diverse, food menu, pleasant not-rushed service, and reasonable pricing for the quality of the food served. The bar selection is well curated with both run-of-the-mill and top shelf liquor. The building/hotel is quite historic and is really a gem for locals and travelers.
