Hymies played a significant role in shaping my life, as it was where I formed a lifelong friendship with my co-worker Paul, he is family to me. It was one of my earliest jobs back in the 1980s, and during my teenage years, I would frequently switch between their different city deli locations. Whenever I needed extra money, I would return to work at Hymies and was always welcomed with open arms. The owner, Sam Barson, and the deli manager, Ivan, taught me valuable work ethic skills...

Unfortunately updating my review as I think the quality and service have gone down.

Old review: Best pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had (and I’ve been to NYC delis). I got the hot pastrami Reuben and the pastrami was thinly sliced, perfectly seasoned with the right proportion of cheese, sauerkraut, and I asked for light Russian dressing. Can’t wait to try the other things on the menu like the challah French toast!
