Mad Mex Monroeville

I’m not sure what got answered the phone when I placed an order today little after 4, but he’s the worst listener. Has to give him my name twice, I said cup of soup twice. When I arrived I decided to get an additional cup of soup for a friend— got home and I was given/charged for a bowl of soup. The second cup of soup offer was taken by the bartender and she didn’t mess it up. Do better.

Bad experience… while I understand it was busy, we were not taken care of properly by our server. Food came pretty quickly. We asked for extra sauces. Food got pretty cold waiting. Asked someone else for sauce, that never came. Third time was a charm I guess but by then we were just ready for the check. Server never asked if we wanted refills or not until she knew we were ready to go.

Wonderful place for a family to eat

This was the worst food I have ever been severed at a restaurant. That alone is worth 1 star, but the prices for inedible food is outrageous. I would rather eat out of the dumpster at McDonalds than pay money for this food. I cannot even describe how bad this food was.

THEIR VERY RACIST. THE MANGER JAY AND HIS WORKER. WE DIDNT GET HER MAME BECAUSE SHE DIDN'T INTRODUCE HERSELF. SHE WAS VERY HIGH OFF SOMETHING. MY COLLEGES AND I WENT THERE TONIGHT BECAUSE SHE LEAVING. MIND YOUR WERE ALL BLACK NURSES AND DOCTORS AT A HOSPITAL IN MONROEVILLE. SHE COMES TO OUR TABLE SHE SO INCOHERENT SHE ONLY TOOK 3 DRINK ORDERS AT A TIME. THERE WERE 6 OF US. SHE LEFT OUR DRINKS AND DIDN'T COME OUT FOR A HALF HOUR. I ASK FOR MINES ON ICE SHE BROUGHT IT BACK FROZEN AND JUST DROPPED THEM OFF AND LEFT. SHE STILL DIDNT TAKE OUR ORDER YET. SHE FINALLY COME BACK TO TAKE OUR ORDER THE FROZEN DRINK I WANTED TO SEND BACK IS MELTED!!! THATS HOW LONG IT TOOK FOR HER TO GET BACK. ONCE SHE FINALLY GOT BACK SHE TOOK OUR ORDER IT TOOK ANOTHER 40 MINUTES FOR IT TO COME OUT 1 MEAL AT A TIME AND IT ALL WAS COLD!!!! MY MEAL STILL HAVEN'T CAME YET. SO MY FRIEND(DOCTOR)WENT TO TALK TO THE MANAGER SHE COME BACK HER FACE WAS BLUSHED LIKE SHE SEEN SOMETHING. WE ASKED WHAT HAPPENED SHE SAYS I PROCEED TO TELL HIM ABOUT THE WAITRESS AND HE CUTS ME OFF AND SAYS HOW MUCH FREE FOOD IS THIS GOING COST ME!!!! SHE SAID I SAID HUH ITS NOT ABOUT FREE FOOD. WE WANTED TO TELL YOU HOW UNSATISFIED WE WERE AND TO CHECK YOUR WAITRESS SHES HIGH!!! !! WE WEREN'T ASKING FOR ANYTHING FREE!! SO I GOES TO TALK TO HIM HE SAYS TO ME, (MIND YOU I NEVER EVEN GOT TO SAY ANYTHING) AND HE BLURS OUT SOON AS I GET TO HIM, I DONT REALLY CARE WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY!!! EXCUSE ME!! I SAID WHAT!!! HE SAID I WANT YALL OUT OF HERE NOW!! RIGHT FN NOW!!!!! WE LEFT!!! HE STARTED YELLING AND WAVING HIS HANDS IN THE AIR MAKING IT LOOK LIKE WE WERE A PROBLEM !!!! WE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!!!! WE WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN AND WE WILL BE CALLING COOPERATE. HE STEREOTYPED US NOT EVEN KNOWING ALL 6 OF US ARE HARD WORKER WOMEN WITH GREAT JOBS, WHO PROBABLY TOOK CARE OF 1 OF HIS FAMILY MEMBERS OR MAYBE EVEN HIM!!! IM SO UPSET AND EMBARRASSED AT THE SAME TIME I DONT KNOW HOW TO FEEL.

I love Mad Mex, but there's always something wrong with my order at this particular location. Several months back, an order of birria tacos came out that was so salty I was in pain. This most recent visit, the beef nachos came out with what was obviously pork on top and an order of elote came out as a cup of corn salsa.

Wow, beautiful flavours, generous portions, friendly service, great atmosphere. If only I lived 3,690 miles closer I’d be here more often.

The ambiance and decor was really cool. Solid menu but I wasn't really impressed by the burritos which had a distinct style that I didn't really like. Rather than being a handheld burrito. It was more like a burrito steak where you had to eat it with a knife and fork. The food itself was pretty good but not stand out. I do think I need to try a few more things on the menu before I write off this restaurant. We dined with kids and they did okay. The kids menu was really good and worth noting. The actual design of the menu was so cool that took one home.

Today, I hobbled into this location and had three different employees stare at me and debate seating because of who's section it was.
I am currently in an air cast and crutches. I typically go to the shadyside location, but this one was more handicapped accessible.

I will never go to this location again, ever (despite being one of the opening staff members when it opened)

The hostess sat us right under the ac unit
When I ask to change see rolled her eyes
The place was at least 60 % empty
I ordered a margarita they forgot the agave
It was bitter I order a fajita the flank steak was cut to thick and was tough the service was the best part of the experience service was 9 food and drink

Again I can't really rate it because it was my first time there. I ordered the fajitas which was pretty good. The salsaand chips where pretty good. The decor has too much day of the dead symbols. It could be toned down.
