MISSION BBQ

Good BBQ place with a cafeteria style way of ordering. No one seats you at a table, you just have your order taken, find a seat, and they call your name. Not the biggest fan, but certainly not something to drive one away either. I personally wasn't a fan of the flavor of the chicken itself, but also had the lean brisket and absolutely loved that! Had the original in house bbq sauce and very much enjoyed that as well. My fiancé got the pulled pork and the turkey, and while she said the turkey was average, I did try her pulled pork and wished I would have gotten that instead of the pulled chicken. We both got the two meat sampler tray. Getting utensils and the like is a bit weird. Everything is in a literal toolbox next to the drink machine, and forks are at the front of the restaurant for some reason instead of next to everything else. Not a complaint really, just weird like I said. Will definitely be back when in the area and craving BBQ. Just probably won't get the chicken again (it has like a chilli powder taste, and that's a bit weird for bbq chicken), that being said, you might like it, I just wasn't a fan personally.

The meats, baked beans, cornbread, and mac & cheese are great. The cole slaw isn't good and the sauces at the table are barely just ok. The employees are friendly and the tables are pretty clean. I like that there is a beverage fountain and don't have to wait for someone to give me refills. I usually order an XXL combo with 2-sides. It is a lot of food and I leave stuffed and happy.
I wished this place had better-tasting sauces, it's a big deal for me.

Last time I was there, there were tiny cockroaches around the edges of the walls near where I sat. Never going back. So gross.

I dont know what I was thinking by ordering the salmon at a BBQ joint. It was seriously overcooked and very dry. The only fish that should be on a BBQ menu is catfish... Everything else was great! The cornbread, collard greens and green beans were perfect comfort food.

Great every time!

Mission BBQ is a chain with a small town feel. The food is consistently flavorful. It is one of my husband's favorite restaurants.
On this visit we chose lean brisket, with macaroni and cheese and the greens side. The brisket was tender and flavorful. There are six different barbecue sauces on the table, but if you ask at the counter where you pick up the food, they will give you the white Alabama Barbecue Sauce as well. That is my favorite and it add such a depth of flavor, especially when combined with another of the Red barbecue sauces.
The only issue I had was I felt a little rushed when ordering at the counter. I don't go to Mission BBQ often so I didn't know all the options and I felt like I was being asked questions rapid fire, even though there was nobody waiting behind us. Staff was friendly though.
