The service is fantastic. The food is great. The cook was sociable and the waitress was kind and caring. I visited with my grandma, who can be tempermental, she had nothing to say and was very impressed with the restaurant.

Kid-friendliness: Non-smoking though alcohol is served upon ordering.

Wheelchair accessibility: No mandatory steps nor is there a curb.

If you want to eat good or just want 1000+ calories late on a Friday night this is your place. Food quality was 89/100. Service was prompt. Bathrooms no bueno. Would eat again.

Not much of a show. Food was dry. Rice hard. Chicken, shrimp overcooked. Bathroom needed to be mopped. Floors sticky. Tip included automatically for not a great experience. Meal almost $40.00. Wouldn't go there again.

I've been here before a couple times food is really good and you're definitely full when you leave mostly from rice and vegetables. I went there yesterday and was not happy when the waitress asked for more tip money after you are already paying an 18%service fee that's added to your bill automatically. They definitely need to make some improvements to the restaurant itself even some new paint would make a difference.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for 30 years and it’s consistently good! Everyone is incredibly friendly and go above and beyond plus the prices aren’t bad at all

Had our daughters sweet 16 birthday dinner here with her friends and family. Both chefs were awesome and very friendly! They kept great conversations and extremely funny! But most importantly the food was cooked to perfection and in big portions making the price well worth it!

We were down in Pittsburgh on the week of the Fourth of July. On our last night we went to Shogun to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant may not look like much on the outside but it's pretty Amazing on the inside. Service was outstanding, food was excellent our chef was so good and funny, it was such a great birthday dinner.

Kid-friendliness: My soon to be niece said she had gone to Shogun for a kids birthday party and it was fun. We had 5 kids in our party of 10 and they were comfortable and had fun

Okay well this is hands down the best out of all of the Japanese Steak Houses in the Pittsburgh area! We have been to them all and wow just wow! Thank you for everything we will be back!

Went here few times before and do not remember the 18percent gratuity. Then the waitress asked us for more tip for her and everyone else after they already got 30 plus dollars off 2 people and we tipped the hibachi chef. Food is good but not worth 100 bucks. I asked for change back and she did not give back she says oh you don't need any change. They need to put on the door or in their menu about this charge. Unacceptable!

Had my wife's birthday dinner here, and everyone was so polite and helpful. The food was good, and the chef was very entertaining!

The original is still the best in Pittsburgh! Table Tricks, service and quality of food is still the best for a Japanese steak house. Love it!

I mean…The food was good, but I was also ascared to eat it after I saw what I saw. They really need to close down for a couple days and clean up the joint…because dang

I feel it's a bit pricey for the amount of food you get. ( Lot's of rice not to many veggies and less meat, fish, or chicken,) I did like it but not sure if I will be happy to come back. May try it again hopefully it will be better.

This place used be fantastic years ago and we frequently had large groups attending. A new owner took over and the place has taken a nosedive. He refused to honor a gift certificate we had and I stopped going for years, but gave it another chance this week. The service, cook and food were all good, but we were then explained we had a mandatory service charge on a party of 2, which had to be explained to everyone individually as it is a policy that exists no where else at all. Planned on tipping higher than that so I really made no big deal about it. But clearly this place is being run by a greedy owner and there's another hibachi location down the road at the mall. The building looks like it was never kept up very well, menus have white-out and higher prices written in, signs everywhere essentially stating they were no longer offering certain things or that any former promotions have been ceased, etc. Miss how the place used to be. Again, the food and service were good. But I really don't feel like going to dinner while wondering about the legality of their policies.
