The atmosphere was inviting not over done but definitely a nice restaurant vibe.i believe the price to be moderate and good food I wasn't crazy about the stuffed shrimp with vanilla but it was good quality. Haven't gone in a while and it's the same as it was 10-15 yrs

I used to come to the Wooden Nickel often with my family years ago when I was raised in Pittsburgh. So I was excited to come back and try it.This place is bad...The menu options are limited if you don't want something fried. I ordered the steak and Cesar salad. The quality of meat was bad. Alot of tendons and fat. It was a thin cut of meat, and the ends were burnt, and the center was undercooked. The Cesar salad had hard parmesian crisps and dressing didn't really taste like Cesar.The worst part of this meal was the vanilla bean stuffed shrimp and scallops that my mother ordered. It's hard to believe that someone thought this combination was a good idea.I don't think I will be coming back.

The bad reviews about the food and service are true. The pasta sauce was bland and the shrimp was not clean. The energy in the restaurant was very unfriendly. One of the waiters who came over to pour water in the cup was reaching over me. She did not greet me or say excuse me.

Beautiful restaurant and absolutely delicious food. I have been here for a bridal shower and everything was fantastic so we came back for dinner and it was better than expected! Fantastic service and outstanding food! Don't place this place up as a dinner choice in Monroeville!

Wow, what a treat! I am traveling for business and got lucky enough that this place is right by my hotel. I got the vanilla bean shrimp & scallops, absolutely delicious! The staff were super friendly and my food came right out, this place was a total win, thank you! I will be back the next time I’m in town.

We were entertaining business clients and your restaurant was recommended by a colleague. It did not disappoint. The atmosphere was lovely and the food delicious. Our waitress was delightful, too. The next time business brings us to Monroeville, we will visit again.

Walked into the restaurant and was greeted with " I don't think we have any tables". Hostess walked away and didn't say anything. After waiting 15 minutes to be seated because "we're out of tables" (the dining area has 7 tables open), our hostess gratuitously served us water in dirty glasses. The young waiter (poor kid was alone) took about 10-15 minutes to take our order and offer more water. We had our order taken at 242pm and at 338pm got our food. No bread with pasta? Food presented well, but lacked flavor. There were two Obnoxious patrons sitting adjacent to our table who were 3-4 Martinis in and talking at the top of their voices about Politics, Same Sex Marriage, and IVF, and everything else. This dining experience was Horrible.

Had an 11am reservation on a Saturday but they had events so we were sat in the lounge/bar area, which was fine except for the obnoxiously loud/ticking heater vent above us. Had the artichoke dip and calamari for appetizers, the dip was great the calamari was cooked wonderfully but it's the first time I've ever had them served with banana peppers... The flavor pairing was not for me. Entrees were the blue burger, which was cooked exactly as requested (med-rare) and was excellent. The other was the beer-battered cod sandwich, which was no good. Definitely more 'panko crusted' than beer battered and was very thin, way more bun than fish. Drinks (Jack and Coke, Mimosa) were weak as well, especially for the price. Our server, Kim, was great!
