Last time we were there with friends, was poor service and really dirty seats in the corner listening to a band. Needs a good cleaning, cobwebs, dust, exc.... please clean. We do like being close to bar/ grill and entertainment.

Went here 4 years ago & I always thought back to how wonderful this gem is. Going to go back tomorrow. You just can’t find unique spots like this anymore, I cherish them.

Surprised it’s still in business, but visitors might note that “dive bar” is what is available in and around Mount Bethel. In fact one of their long time customers bought a local place & renamed it Fuhrer’s”. That tells much about the area, sadly, and who you will encounter at Overlook. No normal person goes to a bar to encounter far right banter, do they? Even among dives ( which can be locally charming in other areas of the country), this is the least welcoming and run down tavern in the county,. The only redeeming grace (lol) of this bar is that it’s about the only place you can find live music in the area (mostly weekends). Otherwise, you’ll find a couple of local slogs smoking and drinking their Millers at the deserted bar while ordering a nine dollar frozen pizza and slurring far right political banter. A positive: The location has potential for interested investors/new ownership for attracting tourists. Good luck w the local gov’t in getting permits, however…
