Please, please, please give these folks your business. Amato's was exactly what we needed after a weekend's worth of hiking and rock hounding.
I found this wonderful restaurant through a Google Maps search of places on our way home and we were very happy this choice spot came up. Did I mention this was our first time?
The food was delicious, very well made and was delivered very quickly. Though we were there between lunch and dinner, let's call it lunch, the staff was welcoming and took very nice care of us.
The stand out, what I expect they are know for, is their Pizza Stella. A unique, at least to us, take on a pizza. Folded into five open pockets and arranged on the pan in a star, was ricotta, mozzarella arugula, roasted garlic, mushrooms, tomatoes, basil prosciutto and Parmesan Reggiano (standard). We asked and they graciously added eggplant. The crust was golden, crunchy and pillow soft on the inside. So good.
We also had the wing zings (?) poppers and gravy fries, which had a very light no where near as salty as diner disco fries gravy, also recommended.
TL:DR - When you're traveling route 30, or 340 or near Mount Joy, or in the Lancaster area, it is ABSOLUTELY worth your time to head to Amato's

Got a few pizzas and a pasta dish. Pizzas were okay. The pasta dish was pretty bland. Tiramisu was strange and served in a cup. The front dining room looked like a standard pizza shop dining area. We were sat in the front with another family and zero music for the first half of the meal which was pretty awkward. The back area looked so much nicer and there was no one sitting back there. Price was way too high for the quality of food.

After visiting a friend in Lancaster, we stopped to try a brick oven pizza, and it was fantastic! The crust was perfectly crispy and good service!

The food was delicious, although the portions for the lobster ravioli were a little lacking.

Do not bother ever coming to the place! Waited 20 minutes and the waitress saw us and never brought us waters or menus. If you could give zero stars I would. Don't waste your money at this place.

I’m not one to leave bad reviews… especially knowing any night can be an “off” night but, 3 times now we’ve had 8+ people and have had nothing but forgotten items, extra charges on bills, hour plus waiting for food, cold food, and sub par service. Not sure what happened here but his place has completely gone downhill. No need to go back and never plan on it.

Food was ok, atmosphere was nice, service was below average...sat at bar , waited a good bit to even get our drink order, after they took it took a good bit to make one cocktail and tap a beer...after that waited a while to just get our check...definitely not a place to go if you are in a hurry..wouldn't recommend

It took 15 minutes for anybody to even take out drink order at the bar as nobody knew who our server was. Terrible old fashioned and the single whiskey I had ordered was a half pour, not full 2oz single. Ordered black and blue burger medium and got it well done. Them getting it check took another 15 minutes. Overall, I probably wouldn’t recommend unless you’ve got a lot of time to kill for an “ok” meal.

To be fair, walked in to make a to-go order. Two pizzas to go, ordered and made in record time for a very reasonable price. Wood-fired flavor was a real plus, and no complaints. Absolutely a real pub atmosphere.
