Chops Steakhouse on the Mountain

I read the reviews and still wanted to give them a try.

It was girls night out and we had a blast! Our server Dawn was attentive and very nice. She made sure everything came out hot and we didn’t have to wait for our drinks. By the way the espresso martini was excellent!! Our meals were very good. I had the ribs. Also, Dawn indicated that they may have a karaoke night!!! I sing and travel around to various places in PA as well as NJ. Let’s hope the owner decides to make this happen. We need fun in the Mt. Pocono area. They did a wonderful job renovating the old Baileys. The bar area is so much bigger and they even have a pool table!

We will make this one of our local places to eat. Finally a restaurant that serves good food and pleasant staff to take care of your needs.

I remembered this place used to be good until the
"re-model” idk what they even “re-modeled” it looks and smells the same but I waited 19 minutes for my drinks and a while for my food while most of the staff was sitting around on their phones doing nothing My waitress was all over the place and seemed off but besides that the food was cheap quality and bland it definitely could have been better. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone I know !!!

Let me start with that I was there last week and my food had no flavor at all it tasted like they dropped it on the floor..!!! The manager Rj wouldn’t comp anything or even offer anything to us. He had no clue what he was doing and I quote “he’s young and this is his first time doing this” he was dressed like someone on the street it was an unprofessional look. I noticed a kid was walking around then walked into the kitchen. Also an unprofessional look for what they are going for, whatever that is… I decided to give it another chance last night and my server Danielle was not so great, she had a bad attitude from the beginning and it seemed like she was on drugs. The food again was bland the portions were smaller than last time. I asked my server if I could get a discount and she said the manager wouldnt since we already started eating. She noted herself that he’s cheap and she’s sorry but there is nothing she can do. I heard my server talking to the staff about how she wants to rip off the cook’s clothing and that is gross and not the time or the place for conversations like that especially with kids sitting in the area. Overall I would never eat here again as both experiences were terrible. Horrible food, terrible service and an unprofessional setting. They should just close the place down, I’ll only dine at their other restaurant Smugglers Cove which I’ve had plenty of great experiences at!!!! I recommend going there and never coming here !!!

We were celebrating our engagement and we waited 20 minutes for our drinks and did not receive our food until the 1 hour mark. We got the Mozzarella Logs, they were covered and dripping in grease. Unfortunately when the other food came it was no better. The waitress apologized for the wait and then was asked for a cup of water and again waited about 10 minutes, the waitress proceeded to come and ask how’s the food and I again asked for a water and the response was it’s coming shortly. This was disappointing and the food was terrible would not come back. On top of all of that we got food poisoning from the food.

We had a 7pm reservation and we're greeted by friendly front of the house staff. We were sat in a booth as requested and that was the end of the good experience. We sat at our table for about 20-25 minutes without being acknowledged by wait staff. We ended up leaving unfortunately.

I visited a few nights ago my steak was bland and the lack of options for sides is abysmal. The place smelled old and had hints of mildew which is funny because the server said how they just reopened about a month and a half ago. The seats were uncomfortable and looked worn out already. The only pleasant thing about my experience was my server Malik and the host Theo who both seemed super overqualified for that place. Outside of them the rest of the staff I noticed kind of looked like they were on drugs and lacked any real diversity. The owner, who looked rather young, should dress more professionally to match with the staff. Overall a very unpleasant experience and I won’t be dining here again for a while. Hopefully a change is made because they desperately need it if they want to survive on this mountain. There’s no reason why there was only 1 other person dining at 8:30 at night

We had Dawn as our server. She was wonderful and we loved our food! Service was fast and the filet mignon is excellent. Cool atmosphere!

We were just there 10 minutes ago. Wings state smoked on the menu - not smoked. Staff confirmed they did not use smoker. Burger was frozen, not cooked, and had one slice of cheese out of bag which was an unmelted slice on top. Atmosphere is a mess with servers that are not confident. Drinks are overpriced. We are in the Poconos, not NYC. Blinds in the windows are falling apart. Manager tried to make us feel bad for him because he is 29.

Door-Dashed an order. The food arrived on time but cold. My grilled chicken BLT had neither lettuce nor tomato. My friend got a sirloin steak, loaded baked potato, and broccoli that was ehh - if we’d known the loaded baked potato used Cheeze Whiz, we wouldn’t have ordered it, but they don’t have any descriptions on their menus and apparently don’t have anyone who can answer a phone. At these prices, I expected better.

This place was nice. The food was good very disappointed with having to pay for extra bread. They gave us two rolls for two people when we asked for an extra bread for our dinner. We were told it would cost us four dollars. That’s a total shame the place was great, but that will make me turn her away.

Definitely a must visit! The service was excellent (thank you Destiny) and food was outstanding. My choice was the giant pretzel appetizer and filet entree (add the lobster tail, you won’t regret it!). Would definitely return!

I’m a local and had dinner there recently. Salmon, blackened, was excellently cooked and strip steak was perfectly medium rare as requested. The smashed baked sweet potato is a MUST have and will be my “go to” side when I return! Early Bird 25% discount, until 5:30 on regular entrees, is a very generous offer in addition to extremely reasonable pricing. Any consideration to add Prime Rib?
