Amazing dinner and service. Best expresso martini ever. Everything was delicious. Very good spot for a party

My husband and I went to Macaluso's for dinner on an anniversary trip, and from the atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and unbelievably good food, we could not have been more delighted. Each course was better than the last, with homemade soups, perfectly grilled long hots with imported sharp provolone and olive oil, pan seared sea scallops with sage butter, eggplant parm, and Italian "love cake" for dessert. Thank you, Macaluso's, for an unforgettable dining experience served up with heart. We loved it, and will definitely be back!

We had driven by this restaurant months ago.......with a promise to sometime get there for dinner. We finally made reservations for it this past week......and, after our great meal & friendly service, it won't take us nearly as long to make a return visit. Rosie was a wonderful server...SO friendly and she really made our menu selections much easier by making recommendations and answering our questions. I really don't think that you can go wrong with whatever you decide to order, though. My spouse started with a bowl of their Portobello Mushroom Soup, which he thoroughly enjoyed. As for our entree selections, I decided to go with a Special of the Day........Manicotti (made in-house!) and my spouse ordered their Ravioli (also made in-house). Both were delicious and my portion was so large that I brought half of it home with me. Macaluso's offers a unique side salad option. You can either get a full portion of their Tossed Greens or a half-portion of either their Gorgonzola or Caesar Salads. My spouse liked his Tossed Greens, but nothing could beat my serving of Gorgonzola Salad......filled with chunks of cheese, lots of walnuts, and the best dressing.........LOVED it! Do save room for dessert.......whether you eat it there or take it home, as we did. My Peach Pie was delicious......with a crust like none other that I have eaten. My spouse selected their "Love Cake" and was quite happy with it. Pricing for food and beverages, we felt, was very fair. There are both indoor and outdoor dining options here at this time of the year......we selected the indoor because of the humidity, but both areas looked equally inviting. We will return...........

Have been going here for years and last nights dinner will be the last. From the minute we walked in till the time we left I can honestly say nothing was like it used to be. Bread on the table was cold and stale. One Pat of butter in the basket. My son was served a Diet Coke that looked like colored water. When I brought it to the waitress attention she said maybe you have to stir it. She eventually agreed to get a new one after I tasted it and said it was bad. Service was horrific. Food was tasteless. The table next to us was served raw coconut shrimp. On my way out I stopped to tell the new owners how bad our experience was and her reply was just sorry. It’s too bad because we went there frequently and sent a lot of friends there but it’s a done deal

This restaurant is in the Lehigh Valley 5 mins from Jim Thorpe. It is in a very pretty location. In the summer they seat you outside on a very cool well sheltered patio. The restaurant is Italian themed, but has some very interesting variants on well known Italian dishes. The chef is very good and she has a nice light touch with the sauces. Plenty of flavor without being saturated in sauce. I noticed one review said the place was expensive. I don’t agree.

If you are anywhere near Jim Thorpe or Nesquehoning, you must dine at Macaluso's. I had a filet mignon that was as good as any I have ever eaten! I was pleasantly surprised to find a great steak that melted in my mouth. Great pleasant service topped off the dining experience.

Excellent as always. Haven’t been here I a while. Couldn’t wait to return. Great service, excellent food. We had a large party and everyone was pleased.

Had a group dinner. The server was very attentive and made us all feel comfortable and welcome. Food was very good.

I gave two stars only because the food was delicious. The service left a lot to be desired. We spent over two and a half hours there due to gaps in service. It took 20 minutes after seating to get our first drink. We then waited a similar period of time before being asked about ordering food. The entire meal service had painfully long gaps. The restaurant was not completely full either. The services should have been much better. Very disappointed.

Very good Italian food at reasonable prices. Attentive service. House "specials" are interesting. Indoor dining room closed, probably y due to COVID but outdoor patio heated and attractive.

I been dining at this restaurant for years. Never have I been so shabbily treated as I was last evening. After making reservations 2 days in advance, traveling over 50 minutes and arriving on time I was told my party would have to wait for our table. And wait we did...and waited and waited, even though there were several empty tables. We were told they couldn't seat anybody because the kitchen was backed up. When we told the snippy waitress we were leaving, instead of apologizing, she said "it's your loss"!!!

Terrible experience... was there with my girlfriend for our anniversary dinner we waited over 50 mins for our entrees. She ordered chicken marsala it came out luke warm with a nasty mushy film and half of the piece of chicken was gristle and hard and was served with cold mashed potatoes we told the server who took the food inside to the owner she returned 20 mins later holding the same plate of cold chicken marsala and put it back on our table for some reason after it was sent back which was bizarre to say the least.. and she said that the owner refused to take it off the bill and refused to let her change her order to something else that was acceptable. I then stated it was unacceptable and asked to speak to the manager waited again over 15 more mins. A total of 90 plus mins at that point! And only paid because we were running late for a concert after dinner. Save your time and money.. choose another place.

Four of us dined here on a recent Saturday night during a stay in nearby Jim Thorpe. They have a very nicely heated outdoor patio that was comfy for our meal. We thought being near a main road would be noisy but that wasn’t an issue. Nice selection on the menu plus there were quite a few specials that night to pick from. For apps, we tried one with roasted peppers and cheese (great) and a seared ahi tuna (great but a small piece of tuna). Dinners come with decent side salads. For entrees, two of us got the salmon that was a special (awesome piece of fish that was perfectly cooked). One diner got the paparadelle pasta (really good) and one diner got a chicken and pasta dish (also good). Service was great throughout our meal. Prices are fair considering the food quality.

Normally I don’t write negative reviews because I recognize the harmful effect it can have on a business. Especially today with restaurants struggling just to stay open. So right up front this review is meant to make the owners realize that the waitstaff are working their butts off, and your killing business with stupid details that are easily remedied. The food was great and prices competitive under normal circumstances. But the following things would be enough to ruin a meal and cause patrons not to return: 1. How do you serve bread with no butter or oil? Patrons should not have to ask for it. 2. The dishes uses are unbalanced cheap plastic. So much so that if gentle pressure against the wrong edge while eating your salad, the plate will tip or worse yet a bowl filled with hot soup will flip burning you with the soup. Which is what happened to someone in our party. 3. How do you not offer decaf coffee at dinner time? 4. How do you not have half and half or cream for coffee? Milk does not cut it. And the waitstaff can only say, “Sorry we don’t have it.” 5. How is the coffee served taste like it was left over from lunch? These are all easy fixes that could redeem a restaurant and be worthy of the hard work your front of house staff is giving you.
