My husband and I went to Macaluso's for dinner on an anniversary trip, and from the atmosphere, friendly and attentive service, and unbelievably good food, we could not have been more delighted. Each course was better than the last, with homemade soups, perfectly grilled long hots with imported sharp provolone and olive oil, pan seared sea scallops with sage butter, eggplant parm, and Italian "love cake" for dessert. We had driven by this restaurant months ago.......with a promise to sometime get there for dinner. We finally made reservations for it this past week......and, after our great meal & friendly service, it won't take us nearly as long to make a return visit. This restaurant is in the Lehigh Valley 5 mins from Jim Thorpe. It is in a very pretty location. In the summer they seat you outside on a very cool well sheltered patio. The restaurant is Italian themed, but has some very interesting variants on well known Italian dishes. The chef is very good and she has a nice light touch with the sauces. Plenty of flavor without being saturated in sauce. I noticed one review said the place was expensive. I don’t agree.
