Back Door Tavern serves burgers that are good, but may not impress burger enthusiasts. The restaurant offers fresh toppings and good fries, along with excellent food at reasonable prices. The staff is friendly, but service can be slow at times. The menu features popular items like wings, Pittsburgh salads, and a large fish sandwich that is deep fried with crispy breading and served on a fresh hamburger roll. The fish melts in the mouth and has a light, fluffy texture. The tavern is a great hometown pub with a good beer list at reasonable prices, and food portions are large and reasonable as well. Bartenders are always very responsive and friendly. Be aware that parking can be tricky, especially with a one-way street, and there are two entrances: one for the bar and one for the restaurant. Overall, it's worth a visit.
