We had dinner here but it is now called the Beacon Hill Diner. It was close to the Holiday Inn Express where we stopped on our way to the beach. Food was very good and portions were plentiful. Nothing fancy but good sandwiches and onion rings which we shared. Our server was excellent very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend.

After a very disappointing experience at the Pizza Hut across the street (we walked out), we went to John's Diner. My wife and both ordered a salad with steak. The salad consisted of 90% lettuce, plus the meat. We were seated under a ceiling fan, but upon asking for a table without an arctic breeze, we were told the other tables were not better. So we ate and froze. Until a cleaning woman fired up a vacuum cleaner and very thoroughly and intensely vacuumed the carpet around...

Classic diner feel. Great attentive service. The crab cakes were delicious! The chocolate chip pancakes had the perfect amount of chips and were fluffy and buttery. Hash browns needed seasoning and the sausage was somehow really dry.
