I’ve visited the store three times over the past year and enjoy every visit. I’ve purchased everything from socks, candy, soap, jewelry, and trinkets. This past week, I picked up a few bags of loose tea for my Mothers Day lunch for the ladies in my family. After a little guidance from the shop owner, I made a successful 6 pots of amazing tea! I can’t wait to visit the cafe soon for tea and lunch. Oh, and the top 3 teas were: Back Porch, Spiced Orange and Lemon Curd.
This place is full of good surprises. It is not your typical knick knack shop. All items are of excellent quality and while there is a lot of stuff from Ireland, Scotland and the UK are represented too. For example, there is a large variety of Mcvitie's Digestive Biscuits as well as special mustard blends from Ireland. There's a huge selection of loose tea, wool hats, luxuriously thick flannel shirts, tea pots, whisky flasks, specialty glassware... each room is...
Ultimately, this was a very good experience. The store was nice and had good prices. The food was excellent (afternoon tea, meat pies, sausage roll, scones, scotch egg) and was enough to fill all six of us. The folks were friendly too.There were two things that took one star away. First, when we arrived, some of the workers were not entirely friendly, almost like the six of us were a burden. They eventually warmed up to us (or maybe we just caught them at a bad moment?)
