Was in the area and wanted to find a local lunch spot and came across this gem that I will absolutely be returning to! For starters, I loved how quaint the place is, as it just has that cozy small town restaurant feel… I had the grilled roast beef and cheese sandwich with sauerkraut and thousand island and that was delicious. I also LOVED the pickle soup! Didn’t have room for ice cream my first round, but I will make sure I do for my second! Lovely place!

While in New Holland for a work trip, it was suggested that I try Lickety Split for lunch. After reading through the menu, I was intrigued. The dill pickle soup was what really caught my eye and got me excited to try this spot for lunch. I threw together a hodgepodge order of pretzel nuggets (when in PA, you need to eat pretzels), the dill pickle soup, and a chicken quesadilla...a little bit of everything including their specialty. We did a takeout and the location was quaint inside and seemed busy for lunch - a good sign. Food didn't take long to be ready and I was ready to dig in. The pretzel nuggets were fantastic. They came with a cranberry honey mustard that was good, as well as unexpected! There was plenty enough to share and they were not oversalted. I then moved onto the soup. The main event for this order. It was...OK. I love pickles. I love soup. It felt like a match made in heaven. Instead I found the seasoning of the soup to be a bit too much for my taste. The consistency of the soup was perfect, as was the pickle flavor. However, it was just too much of whatever it's seasoned with for my tastebuds. The chicken quesadilla was exactly as expected. Not exciting and good for lunch. I would love to stop back here for a milkshake or to try their ice creams. I'd order lunch again but would try for one of their many wrap or hot sandwich options. Definitely not a bad spot for food. Just didn't blow me away.
