The food was very fresh and there was attention to detail details. Salads was very fresh. Chicken piccata was very tender. Penne pasta was al dente. Green beans was perfectly cooked bright green, but not too chewy Service was very active, engaging and personable.
This is a wonderful cafe with an amazing mission! You pay what you can for delicious food in a cozy atmosphere.
You are seated when you arrive, but go up to the counter to order and tell them your table number. When you order, they'll tell you the suggested donation amount, but you can give more or less, and they give away lots of meals. We were there for breakfast on Saturday, and I had eggs, fantastic bacon, and well-cooked home fries (potato chunks)....

The food is great and the people are are even better! A very interesting concept and wish more like this were around. Mary and all of her helpers are just wonderful! Have her tell you the whole story as to how this place came to be. Please don't pass this place up if you're nearby. And if you don't leave with a smile on your face, there's something wrong.
