This will be unlike most reviews posted. Usually it's all about the food, drink and service. This one is skipping the food and drink. No quibble at all regarding the food and drink. Actually every bite of food served to the seven diners in my group had zero complaints. The category that isn't so special is the surprise party at the picnic tables at the "outside" bar dining area. Our server was Renee, who was giving A plus service the whole way - start to finish. However we froze to death. Let this be a "heads-up" to future diners who plan on dining during the winter months at the Sherwood. We called ahead at 4:30 on a Saturday, checking to see if we needed reservations. Whoever answered said no need for that. When we arrived 30 minutes later the parking lot was full; I grabbed the very last space. That was the first alarm bell. Then when we went inside for a table they had none inside. Not knowing any better we took what was available which is the enclosed outside deck/bar area. Yes they have heaters, but the plastic tarps that cover the openings on the deck are no match for winter wind and chill. Even worse for anyone sitting out of range of the heaters. Our waitress was extremely and genuinely apologetic for the seating circumstances. She tried all she could do. There is no blame being given. My review is meant to advise anyone to be prepared if you happen to be offered seating on the deck during winter season. On the other hand, polar bears and penguins might love it!

Love the new modern rustic look since they remodeled. I had a work trip in PA and met up with my family for dinner here. I’m completely in love with their bbq cheesesteak (no bun) on top of sweet potato fries and their dessert is out of this world. It’s very laid back and no rush. I enjoyed eating here and will definitely come back in the future when I visit!
The steamed shrimp were very bland and had no celery steamed with them as they normally have had in the past. This was my go to place for steamed shrimp. I ordered a peach margeritta and sent it back. It was the worst one I have ever had from anyplace. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri. It was so pale, very light pink and no sweetness at all and didn't taste like strawberry. Normally, everything is so good here. I don't know what is happening. It is expensive to go out to eat. This visit was a waste of money. I was very disappointed in the the drinks & food.

I had this wonderful waitress named Cassidy and she was probably the best waitress ever. She served us really good really good food and just overall a nice place. It’s nice to know that there’s good waitresses out there like her.
