This is a good spot. Sat at the bar and had delicious mojito and lemon drop martini. Bread basket was great with olive oil/parm cheese dip. Calamari was good (No squigglys unfortunately for my wife) Caesar salad was disappointing for a renown Italian restaurant. Soft shell special was ok. Clams and linguine in white sauce was delicious. Great service at bar from woman whose name I didn’t catch but has been there two years. Definitely coming back.

Very nice. I enjoyed myself and the food. We had a very good waiter named Jason. Ask for him.

Over $150 for dinner with very inedible food. Prime rib special only had 4 good bites with no fat. The rest was all fat and inedible. The veal shop was heavily charred and that’s all I could taste. With the fat and bone I could not cut into to it to eat it because all I can taste was char (very black-ordered it medium) from where they cooked it all. It looked fatty, tough to bite into and again very inedible food. Now I can understand why it was not busy for a Wednesday night. How this restaurant could get away charging its prices for very inedible food ? Highway robbery ? Let me tell you…I could not live with myself charging these prices and serving this slop of a mess…Cannot wait to tell this story to many people…especially my friends that once appraised this place! I was shaking my head how they won best restaurant in the area reading the sign on the way out. I did ask the waitress if the mashed potatoes were plain, she said yes. Well, they were not plain and they were more like Mac and cheese mashed potatoes. Clumpy and very orange with no good flavor to them. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. We did not want to go home since we were both hungry. We stopped at another restaurant and then went home. Skip this place. Do yourself and your wallet favor. Very disappointed and will definitely never return unless it’s for a funeral luncheon.

I’ve been going to this gem in Brooklyn for 13 years. The quality of the food is second to none. I had friends from the UK visit and I brought them here. They went all over the city and ate at tons of places. Out of everywhere they ate in the city AND London, La Locanda is their favorite. Nothing but good service all around.

My Mother has been telling me about this restaurant for over 2 years. She took my husband & me to La Locanda for our 30th wedding anniversary. We were in heaven! I made the mussels appetizer into an entrée (with linquine in garlic sauce). Absolutely delicious. My husband had lobster ravioli & my mom had lasagna. I only took pics of the 2 dishes I had because I'm not used to taking photos of food. LOL.
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you experience La Locanda. Our waitress, Rosie, is such a sweetheart... so pleasant with a terrific sense of humor. She took the time to listen to us chatter on & she took care of our every need.
The dessert I had is called "Hot Love" ...it's french vanilla ice cream atop a thin, crisp cookie-type (or cannoli type) "raft" with raspberry jam drizzled on the ice cream & topped with whipped cream.
It took us an hour & a half to get there due to traffic issues, but it was worth it. Can't wait to return.
Thank you Rosie!! And thank you to the Owner, the Chef(s), Bussers & Host(s) for providing all of your customers with a wonderful time.

Kid-friendliness: La Locanda has a children's menu; however, it isn't in print. Ask your server about options for your child. They have pizza, chicken fingers with fries, and probably more.

The oysters were good but the scallops were a bit overdone and the sauce was too citrus forward for me. I did appreciate how many came with the dish. Both my dish and my son’s dish lacked seasoning. Overall we were not impressed especially for the cost.
