Rude!
I live close to this place but I'll drive to Lawrenceville next time I need a gluten free dessert.
This guy is rude and he has been for years.

Saw their farmers market table, bought a few gluten free focaccia breads- out of this world! Been a steady customer since.

Cafè Chocolade is such a unique hidden gem in Oakdale. It is only one guy who does it all and it’s quite amazing. The food is all gluten free and so fresh. Everything I have had the pleasure of trying is absolutely delicious. I personally recommend the hot chocolate and the large roasted chicken salad. If you have time to stop by you definitely should.

Everything hand made, gluten free, locally sourced... Amazing pasta offerings. And my new favorite appetizer: fried avocado!

Ok. This place is no joke. It was the best mushroom toast I have ever eaten in my life. It’s just a small restaurant with a quaint atmosphere, but this chef is the real deal! I also had Avacado fries and a salad. You need to try this place.

The black bean burger was the best sandwich I have ever had, macaroons were amazing and really loved the tiramisu and lasagna.
Definitely a new favorite GF place for my wife and favorite place for me too. The gluten free tasted the same as gluten dishes.

Gluten-free deliciousness, from soup to nuts!
There is a dearth of dedicated gluten free restaurants with a full service menu (i.e., not just sweets). In fact, I don't know of ANY others in Pittsburgh, and honestly, dedicated GF is the only fail-safe way to dine out with celiac. Cafe Chocolade is not only dedicated gluten-free, it is whole food, all made from scratch, and much of the menu is plant-based.
And you can get actual meals - and what a meal that is. From gourmet appetizers like the avocado fries (so perfect: avocado dipped in a from-scratch bread crumb mixture, sauteed, and served with a plant-based creme, made, of course, from scratch), the entrees feature hand-made pastas, house-made plant burgers, dairy-free cheeses (again, made in-house), and pierogie - and these are just the menu items I've tried! The menu changes weekly, so you can always get something a little different.
The chef is an experienced gourmet, truly excited about good food. And oh, the house-made bread pastries, chocolates, and cakes are remarkable. Light and fluffy cakes and breads that lack the heaviness of some gluten-free baked goods. Nothing missing here - except the gluten.
You can order a cake for a special occasion, as I did for my sister and brother-in-law's 50th wedding anniversary lunch. It was gorgeous and delicious, filled with ganache, berries, and frosted with plant-based "buttercream". My pic isn't perfect, as the cake had been boxed to-go and we un-boxed it on the spot, but we couldn't resist digging in right there, after our superb lunch.
And get a french-pressed coffee with your dessert while you're there. Roasted in-house daily. Mmmm.
(Also offers hand-made GF pastas to go, for cooking at home. What more could you ask for?)

Gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free. Those with dietary restrictions can feel safe knowing their food will meet their needs. The owner is very helpful and kind.

This is always a unique and exquisite dining experience. The food is made with care, it's presentation is gorgeous and the taste is beyond compare with any vegan restaurant around, anywhere.I love treating myself to this magnificent restaurant. I may wait a bit longer or pay a little more, but it is more than worth it.Care takes time, source ingredients cost more. This isn't a fast food restaurant....thank goodness!

We went in to order. The gentleman working said we'd have to be patient, it's just him working. That's fine, we were patient and took our time deciding what we wanted. Went to the register to order and I could barely hear the man as he was talking to us. I placed our order. My husband asked a question for clarification and the guy was a complete jerk in his response. He just kept saying nasty things in response in different ways. So we left. Won't ever be back. We were more than understanding of him being the only one working. But being a jerk is not acceptable and appears to be the norm based on other reviews.
