We went in to order. The gentleman working said we'd have to be patient, it's just him working. That's fine, we were patient and took our time deciding what we wanted. Went to the register to order and I could barely hear the man as he was talking to us. I placed our order. My husband asked a question for clarification and the guy was a complete jerk in his response. He just kept saying nasty things in response in different ways. So we left. Won't ever be back. We were more than understanding of him being the only one working. But being a jerk is not acceptable and appears to be the norm based on other reviews.

I received a giftcard to the cafe and really enjoyed stopping in today. A nice selection in the case of gluten free cakes, tarts, macarons, etc. I got some treats for a relative flying in and got a piece of tiramisu cake for myself- it was fantastic. Very moist and delicious. Can’t wait to stop back in for more pastries.

The food selection is amazing alone. It was my first time in and I was immediately greeted at the door and helped. The service is awesome, had 4 meals and even deserts. The mushroom manudo soup is to die for and the whole menu is so enticing. Can't wait to come here whenever I'm in town to make it a regular spot to visit. I would highly recommend CafeChocolade to anyone looking for cozy atmosphere and a delicious bite to eat.

This was my first time here and we ordered 4 meals off the menu and a starterthe salmon with fig balsamic, was cooked to perfection and flavoredDelicately theAvocado fries, were crunchy and paired with the perfect sauce theMushroom menudo soup, was so unique and had amazing flavor with each bite you could taste the unique flavor profiles of the different types of mushrooms thePotato and cheese chalupa, was crispy and the filling was delicious and creamy was a perfect comfort foodVeggie Walnut burger , Was absolutely the best burger let alone the best vegan burger I’ve ever had the fresh bread made in house was so soft and each bite was the perfect ratio of all the flavors!!Everything we ordered was made to perfection and had amazing flavor profiles we also ordered everything dairy free as well and it was delicious the portions and generous and filling and the food is amazing as well as reasonably priced this is a great option for anyone with food allergies and even for those without allergies it’s an amazing meal! :)Vegetarian options: There’s plenty of options for food restrictions and he does an amazing job with the foodDietary restrictions: I eat gluten free and dairy free for an allergy and the service and food was absolutely amazing !!

The gentleman there was very kind and tried his best to work around allergies (nuts and tomatoes, and almost everything had those in it). He said he changes the menu regularly and posts it. Unfortunately the desired item (salmon) was on the menu, but it was all gone.I ordered the avocado fries. I've attached a photo. It was $7.50 for one small avocado with...something on it?...and a dollop of sauce below it (which makes this picture look like there's a lot more there than there really is). The sauce tasted like a weird spicy peanut butter, and the avocado wasn't very good. It was kind of a shock with how little food there was. It was pretty expensive for essentially a hot sliced avocado.It seems like the hot drinks would be better than the food available. If I ever go back, I'll go for a hot chocolate.

Had a very weird experience. I was the only customer and the man taking my order was not super friendly. I tried to order a latte at this cafe and he had no milk so all I could get was a plain coffee. I went and sat down and waited for ten minutes and he had forgotten all about my order.

Best gluten free cake! So glad to have found this cafe when I did a Google search for gluten free cakes in the Pittsburgh area. Some of the gf cakes in the area have either been too sweet or too gritty. Cafe Chocolade cake is simply perfect- in taste, texture and presentation! And, they offer a variety of batters and icings to choose from. Grateful for such a place?

A lovely spot just off the highway enough it's quiet without being hard to get to, with great food and staff that really cares about the quality of their ingredients. They had fantastic gluten and plant based baked goods so I was able to easily pick up a treat for a family member with allergies, and inside the cafe was a really nicely decorated and comfortable area, with great ambience. The salad I ordered was really fresh and delicious, and the hot chocolate from scratch delighted me. I cannot recommend it enough!

Wife recently discovered that foods were at the heart of health issues. Daughters found this little slice of heaven, online. Ordered a mostly everything free chocolate cake (Gluten, dairy, corn, soy) expected to be texture and flavor free. These are the only expectations that were, thankfully, missed.Chef's credentials, and product are amazing. I have no doubt this man will be remembered as a legend.Ended up having lunch at the café too. It may seem pricey, but this cheapskate says it is worth every penny.

The awards on the wall are understated, and accurate. Cakes, cookies and lunch were all AMAZING. We will be making the 2 hour trip again. Here, gluten free (or most any other potential allergen free) does not mean texture and flavor free. It means love and dedication put into every product they serve. If nothing else, have a cup of great tasting coffee and take a look at some of the exceptional culinary offerings available

Everything here is fantastic. Fresh and unique -- food like it should be. Contrary to some reviews, I would saw the owner is friendly, intelligent, and hard working. He runs the entire place by himself (try to do that for years on end....). We enjoyed our food and went back to the counter and had a long conversation about foraging, impact of covid on restaurants, and food quality. Otherwise he let's you order and enjoy your food -- almost European style. Anyone reviewing negatively is probably showing a reflection of their own projections onto people in the service industry. Give people a break! Stop in, you'll love it.
