The rooms are not as clean as I would like them to be. It seems like the rooms were not thoroughly cleaned before I went in. There was hair in the shower, and lint all around the floor, and the surfaces were pretty dusty. Overall, the rooms look nice. The decorations are attractive, and the layouts of the rooms are pretty cool. A great place to bring your family, if only they could thoroughly clean the rooms before you check in.

Unfortunately I would like to rate the hotel higher because the staff is very professional and nice. But the walkway going to our door was filthy and look like a years worth of crap was never cleaned. The entire facility needs to be updated renovated and have a deep cleaning.

I went to hotel, because I was stranded. Booked one night. Arrived at the hotel ,but wasnt able to check in. I was told by the front desk agent I needed a credit card to put a $ 100.00 dollars on hold. Well since my money was stolen I didnt have the money for incidentals. Now I am getting kicked out on the street and im disabled! Not a good look for your hotel! Despicable! Im glad i didnt rent here. While I was in the lobby a guest came down. I over heard the guest complaining about stains all over his bedding. The guest had the sheets with him. Very low class hotel! MOF, A roach walked by my foot as I sat in the lobby! Karma

Stay away from Sonesta ES .Were met with conditions that were wholly unacceptable and unsafe. The room was unclean, visibly deteriorated, and directly outside the entrance there appeared to be a wasp nest, creating a hazardous environment. In addition, another guest and friend of mine, who was also staying at your property, experienced a roach infestation in their room. This raises serious concerns regarding sanitation and the overall maintenance of your facilities. The conditions of our stay represent a clear violation of reasonable health, safety, and hospitality standards.

These people act with class and are extremely friendly. No harassment to get out of the room on time or threats. They act as people in hospitality should and in Delaware, unless you’re at a high- end hotel, I find that to be rare! Incidentals are high but were returned to my Card the very next day after check out!

Absolutely DUMP! I have stayed at numerous Sonesta Hotels and they have all been pretty nice.
This location should be closed down and revamped ASAP.
First room smelled of mold, couch was filthy, someone's glasses were in the pull out bed. (We arrived at midnight and tried to settle in quickly... that failed)
Second room. Couch still dirty. Tissue stuck in. Peephole as closure was broken. The kitchen floor was literally soggy and failing. The linoleum had a huge tear in it. The soap dispenser was broken and sitting on the tub. Walls were dirty, paint on doors. I could go on...
Brreakfast.... (Saturday) woman spent more time with coworkers. Groups of people waited for food. One family actually left to go to a restaurant.
Unfortunately, as it was paid through a third party and I didn't have funds to find a substitute hotel for the Nascar races (last minute at premium prices) and there was NO chance of refund, we had no choice but to remain there.
Needless to say, we did NOT dare use the on-site pool given the poor maintenence and upkeep of the property.
DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!

Updated: 07.26.25-- Well I have to reduce the overall stars to 2.5/3 due to cleanliness. The first time we stayed here was in 2024, it was not bad, we stayed in a regular room. This time we stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and the first room was filthy (old takeout container behind the bed, visible crumbs on the carpet, what could be either food or excrement on the wall) after waiting for housekeeping to come and clean it, we got a second room that was better. However I still had to do a deep clean before enjoying my stay. Not sure if I will return a third time. Too bad as I was so happy the first time we stayed here.
2025 ----It was a great experience. Room was clean enough. Staff were mostly pleasant. Will stay again.

The room i got was super clean and nice. A/C worked great, water pressure good. The front desk people were all very nice and accommodating. The breakfast was good but the eggs weren't that good. Stay was overall very good.

Disappointing experience. This Sonesta ES location does not meet basic 3-star standards. The unit was visibly worn—warped walls, peeling cabinet surfaces, stained carpet, and ants. Appliances were dented, and the general condition of the space felt neglected.
We were notified ahead of time that the AC in the meeting room wasn’t functioning, but no alternative solution was offered. On checkout day, the lobby was closed for cleaning with no staff available—no signage, no assistance, nothing.
This felt more like a dated 2-star extended stay, not what I expect from a brand at this price point. Would not book again.
