An absolutely wonderful experience. From the door, there was the aroma of( whoever is cooking) knows what they are doing l. The atmosphere of quality cleanliness, serenity and professionalism was evident. Timeliness was great, 3 minutes until being seated. The dining area was magical, soft music, lighting set the stage for the greatness that was about to happen. Again, timeliness in ordering and receiving our food was less than 10 minutes. The food, from the cornbread to the wing platter was perfect and unique. Meeting the owner was an added bonus. Man, that meal was somethin’ serious. I had the Soul Bowl — came with four crispy wings, mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, all stacked right on top of a thick pan of cornbread. Whole setup was fire, no lie. That cornbread underneath soaked up all the flavors… had me damn near lickin’ the pan.
They served it up in a tin pan too, which was clutch since I stay 35 minutes out. Soon as I got to the crib, I tossed it in the oven and it reheated like a fresh plate. Still bussin’.
My girl rocked with the fried whiting — same sides, mac & cheese and sweet potatoes. She said it was good.

I’m not trying to bash this place because I’ve been here before, and it was actually good but I also ordered different items and That was about two years ago. Just recently I’ve came back and the food wasn’t the best. Just by looking at the pictures I can tell there’s an inconsistency with the recipe or different cooks. I ordered a fried fish platter with Mac and cheese, yams and a side of collard greens. First let me say the fish was good and seasoned perfect! Now the Mac and cheese wasn’t fresh, very dry and pasty with no cheese pull or fresh cheese used. The texture of the yams was off, reminded me of play-Doh because they were very doughy like as if they sat too long or wasn’t prepared properly and was in a watery juice that wasn’t very flavorful. I did get a piece of cornbread that I didn’t order for free but unfortunately it tasted like a hot comb or flat iron. The taste didn’t remind me of cornbread at all. Wish the experience wasn’t like this because I took my husband with me and said good things about this place 😞

We had such a wonderful experience! This restaurant provided my sorority sisters and me with an amazing soul food meal that truly hit the spot. The food was flavorful, fresh, and beautifully prepared — exactly what we needed for our gathering.
The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our group, making sure everyone felt welcome and taken care of. They were friendly, attentive, and created such a comfortable atmosphere for us to enjoy our time together.
