Best local Chinese place in the immediate area. Love their chicken with garlic sauce and all of their other specialties are great. Amazing pork fried rice. They always give you a lot of rice when you eat in and their white rice is so perfectly cooked and fragrant. Speedy delivery and friendly service.

Service was quick and friendly
Food was fresh and delicious-we ordered both spring and egg rolls, pork Lo mein, General Tso chicken, and Orange chicken with fried and white rice. Everything was delicious and portions were enough to take home leftovers.

I got the Kung Pao chicken and cumin lamb. Both were excellent. The food came out very quickly. Staff is friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. Next time I’m in the area I’ll eat here again.

Have been visiting this restaurants for more than 5 times now. We always have dinner here every time we come to Philadelphia. It never disappointed us. We always ordered 2 main dishes for 2 people.

The food is very delicious and authentic with spice. The order comes out very fast. Service was great. The restaurant is always busy with a lot of customers.

Ordered Gen tso and wonton soup. Gen tso taste like orange chicken with a little Gen tso sauce and the (Large) wonton had 5 wontons with broth and on top of that there's no meat in the wontons🤣🤣🤣. Needless to say we will not be returning. On top of that was 23$ for garbage...

Recently, my family visited from India, and we decided to take them to Chengdu because we had heard great things about the food. There were six of us, and we noticed a round table with a tablecloth that seemed ideal for our group. We politely asked if it was reserved, and the staff said it wasn't. When we then asked if we could sit there, the woman simply said no. We asked again—if the table wasn’t reserved, why couldn’t we use it? She gave no explanation, just repeated “no” with a blank expression.

The restaurant was nearly empty, yet the Chinese owner still refused to let us sit there. It felt like blatant discrimination—purely because we looked different. I was deeply embarrassed in front of my guests. That moment left a mark, and I decided I would never return to that place.

We stopped at Cheng Du for lunch and had a fantastic meal! Some of the most delicious Sichuan food we've had a awhile. Highly recommend the garlic cucumbers, dumplings in chili sauce, dan dan noodles, and pork with celery and dry bean curd. We hope to make it back to try more dishes!

The food was okay, but each time I asked the server simple questions about dishes, she was reluctant to answer and would at most squeeze out a word or two. Hence the rating.

Fantastic spot for authentic Sichuan food! The Spicy Mixed Stew from the Chef’s Specials is a must-try—it’s packed with bold flavors and just the right amount of heat. Their Mapo Tofu is another standout dish, with perfectly silky tofu and deliciously savory black beans that add great depth to the flavor.

Beyond that, the menu offers a wide variety of classic Sichuan dishes, all made with fresh ingredients and the perfect balance of spice and umami. The service is quick, friendly, and attentive, making the dining experience even better. Whether you’re dining in or ordering takeout, the staff ensures a smooth and pleasant experience.

If you’re a fan of authentic, flavorful Chinese cuisine, Cheng Du is definitely worth a visit!

It is a small place where food is good and may be the only factor why we visit here, , however the customer service is not up to the mark, may be that is the reason why many prefers take away. If you ask me about the cost , it is cost effective. If you can manage the service, this place is good as you get good food with great price.
