Everything at my wedding was perfect EXCEPT for Doan's Bones catering. They showed up very late so the entire wedding was at a stand still waiting for food. They argued with my parents in front of everyone. And then threw the left over pizza on a table and left. No money was given back.

We had wings with Mild sauce and quesadilla. The mild sauce was very tomato-based, and plenty spicy -- I think it was loads of black or white pepper. We ordered the "Mild," because she has a stomach-sensitivity to any pepper (black, white, green/yellow/red bell, and any of the hotter peppers), so when the Mild turned out real spicy, it was a frustration.

I told her I'd lick the sauce off her wings, but she wasn't interested in taking me up on that. Besides, even though I'm ok with "hot," licking the heat off her wings would have overloaded even my tongue. Mild?

The chicken in the quesadilla was smoked and delicious. But the chicken was also extra-chewy.

2 PM Sunday afternoon, and the restaurant was filled, so Doan's has a following. Rumor has it that there are long lines on football weekends.

Their food is packed with flavor. Next time, I'm getting a juicy hamburger.

Two dishes, two hot drinks, and tip, came out to a few dollars over $40 for two of us, same as everywhere we go to eat out.

Would not recommend. They had very limited menu due to grill and fryer both being broken, questionable both at same time. Ordered sweet tea and it was not sweet at all, did ask for sugar for it and the guy took it back added something that helped but had to ask for it a second time for it to be sweet at all. Order a quarter take of ribs and it was literally 4 ribs that didn’t have enough meat on them to fill a 2 year old and a side of potato salad that was to be on the generous side maybe 1/2 a cup. Husband got a version of the pork sandwich that came on a hotdog roll and a side of coleslaw that was at the most 1/4 cup. Went to pay the bill and they added an extra drink to it. The total was over 30 dollars. Food not bad but definitely not worth the money.

Stopped at Doan's Bones Barbecue to dine with the Granddaughters after a damp visit to Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center this past weekend. Very kid friendly, relaxed atmosphere and wait staff was very comfortable with active and talkative children. Large, interesting BBQ menu, offering something for everyone. The youngest enjoyed her lemonade, large glasses of ice water were appreciated by the rest of us. The oldest Granddaughter and I had chocolate milkshakes that were pretty standard. The girls both had the chicken tender baskets, which they liked, Bruce had the Brisket with fries and Mac n Cheese, he said the brisket was dry but the macaroni and cheese was good. The French Fries didn’t look tempting. I prefer mine to be fresh cut, and more brown than beige. I had the nachos with pulled pork, cheese, and baked beans. The tortilla chips were nice and crunchy, and the pulled pork and baked beans were so tasty, I was willing to overlook the cheez wiz type cheese product used. Would certainly recommend this dish, super tasty. Serving sizes were ample, everyone except Hubby had enough to take home another meal’s portion. Restrooms could use a deep cleaning, but I would go back without hesitation.

Ice cream is good and a decent price but I was very disappointed with the customer service. The older lady that took my order was very rude, I did not appreciate the attitude. As someone who has worked in the food industry that is not how you treat customers, we will not be back.
