Our chef, Ayed, was fantastic! However, our server came across as a bit cold and overly businesslike. With a party of eight, it’s understandable that large groups can be intimidating. Plus, Gen Z tends to be on the shyer side, but she did warm up a bit by the end.
That said, the food was disappointing. To make matters worse, all our dishes had food spots. We paid $40 a plate, and yes that’s not a lot but can we get clean plates! The glasses were dirty, and I noticed food on the rim of my teacup. My daughter even scraped the inside of her cup with her spoon and brown residue started floating in her water. The atmosphere felt sticky and dated, with chipped paint on the walls. Overall, service was good but presentation needs a lot of work.

Literally amazing! Chef Bar did a double onion volcano! He brought so much great energy to our table! The food was great with good portion sizes. We came for a birthday and it was so special with all the neat tricks and special song! Will be coming again!

Having come on a weekend not realizing lunch specials weren't available, I don't feel the food was worth the price tag. It was very good, but not 100 dollars for 2 people good. The fried rice used to be my favorite but was very blah this time around. The steak and zucchini were perfect though!
Service, however, was the absolute best. Our server Mystic was very nice and friendly, and went above and beyond accommodating vegetarian needs. She made some vegetarian miso soup herself for my partner! She was the best part of the whole experience.
The vibe was a bit weird with it being so empty, but it was noon on a Sunday so that can't be helped.
All around... might be coming back for actual lunch, but I don't think dinner was worth it. Not a bad time though!

I’ve dined here multiple times but it doesn’t get better…. Food is mediocre at best and the service is painfully slow and awful. I’m shocked that this place is still in business…
I thought our dinner was a bit pricey. Everything was okay, I wouldn't say delicious. Our soup was cold, salad was fresh. Our chef was very nice. Drinks took awhile. A nice place but not great.
Very disappointing. The scallops, shrimp and chicken were overcooked and bland, the fried rice was good. The service was very slow, drinks came after the soup and salad were served. We waited ten ten minutes before anyone greeted us, the orders were incorrect and we needed to ask twice for a drink that was forgotten. We were looking forward to a special lunch with my grandson and was simply disappointed.
Went here for a birthday dinner. I've been to this location a few times before, but it's been a few years—and wow, things have definitely changed. If you know Benihana, you expect a little show: the shrimp toss, the onion volcano, the heart-shaped fried rice that “beats.” None of that happened this time. The chef just cooked and that was it. Also, if you're sitting right in front of the grill, watch out—when they scrape it clean, little bits of char can fly your way. The food was still good, but prices have gone way up. They charge extra for flavored butter, bottled water, and drinks are crazy expensive (a glass of wine costs about the same as a bottle). Entrées are easily $20 more than I remember. Service wasn't great either. Our waitress wasn't very friendly—at one point she dropped a water glass on the table pretty hard. They also crammed in extra people at the table so it felt tight. We never got the salads that usually come before the chef starts cooking, and the espresso martini we ordered never showed up. When we asked about sushi rolls, the waitress didn't seem to know much about that menu either. Overall, the food was decent but the experience wasn't. Between the missing Benihana “show,” poor service, and higher prices, it just wasn't worth it. Probably won't be coming back to this location.
Edamame was served fairly cold. They didn't have hot sake (the machine was broken). Had stomach issues after getting home. The servers were polite and nice, however, they seemed short staffed.
Our server was inattentive and they said they ran out of salad but the table next to us was served salads and it's supposed to come with the hibachi package which is already pricey! Multiple errors on our check so be sure to check before you pay! We were double charged for multiple items! We've been many times this was by far the worst
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Experience at Benihana – Plymouth Meeting Mall, PA! We recently visited Benihana in the Plymouth Meeting Mall and had such a wonderful experience that I had to share! We decided to try their Power Lunch promo, and it completely exceeded our expectations. The service was fast, the staff was attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious — truly top tier, especially considering the amazing value for the price. From the moment we arrived, Rhonda and Mystic were both so kind and helpful. They made sure we were seated quickly, explained the promo clearly, and checked on us throughout our meal to make sure everything was perfect. Their teamwork and professionalism really stood out — they made us feel welcome and taken care of the entire time. Our chef, Seide, was the highlight of the experience! He brought so much energy and fun to the table, engaging everyone while showing off impressive knife skills and culinary flair. He cooked everything to perfection — from the steak and chicken to the fried rice and vegetables. Everything was hot, flavorful, and beautifully done. It honestly felt like we got a full dinner experience at lunch for a fraction of the price. The Power Lunch promo is a must-try if you want all the quality and entertainment of Benihana without spending too much. Huge thank you to Rhonda, Mystic, and Chef Seide for making our lunch such a great experience. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we'll come back. This Benihana location definitely deserves all five stars!

Food and service was excellent. There was a long delay getting to our table, they said a chef called in sick, but they gave us a free appetizer while we waited.
We made a reservation for 8, got a notification that our table was ready. I replied that we were on our way. We showed up on time for our 7:30 reservation and still waiting over 35 minutes. Our server was terrible! We were there to celebrate a birthday. Half of the table got their drink orders. The birthday girl and 2 other guests waited 40 minutes with 3 reminders that we still haven't received our drinks. This was the servers MO the entire night. After 3 times requesting something, we got it. Simple things like straws took forever! I thought he was going to forget that we had a birthday celebration, but they sang after we paid the bill. We spent close to $500 and won't be going back. Our chef was great, but the service was so bad the whole experience was ruined. I could keep going on about the bad service, but save yourself the headache and go to Ooka.
It's was a very good experience just to spicy for me next time I know to not get that much
Long wait for chef to arrive but the food was worth the wait! Drinks were also well made. The tables are a little crowed, so if this is an issue, you may want to avoid Saturday night. Overall, great evening!!
Had reservations at 7:30 didn't get seated until 8 and didn't get a drink until 8:30. Didn't leave the restaurant until 10:30. Horrible service. Food had way too much garlic in it. Not worth the $
