First review, but I’ve actually been here quite a few times over the years now, both dining-in and taking out, and even got a few deliveries to home (back when they used to do that “in-house”)
Food is good. Not spectacular. But it’s authentic as advertised. The meat selection is good. Cooked and seasoned fairly. Sauces are ok, made in house. But…
Prices are slightly too high, especially when you consider that their “platters” are nothing more than your entree item plus a very light scoop of bland rice, an equally small portion of very loose refried beans, or… sans the beans, a pinch of shredded lettuce with diced tomatoes with a squirt of crema.
Trust me, you ain’t getting what’s in the menu pictures. And here’s where it starts….
There’s this “game playing” with the menu when ordering at the counter. I’ve asked for Tamales Polo Mole’ the last three times and keep being told “we don’t do that Tamale” though it’s right there on the menu, which has been updated at least twice in the past year to reflect price hikes. So why not remove the item?
And speaking of prices, be sure to break out your phone calculator when you order at the counter, especially on larger orders, and tally up the items alongside the waitress as she writes up the bill. Today, three of my items were overcharged at a $1 a piece, and was overcharged another 4$ for a “phantom tamale” that I never got.
And bear in mind that this was only discovered after I questioned the 6-7$
These guys also love to mix-up or mis-mash orders. I once got somebody else’s completely different order on take-out. Obviously Didn’t realize it until getting home and unboxing. But We were hungry.
So with that, I think I’ll end the relationship on a high note and “cut” ties with “Los Machetes.” Best of luck. ?

The food is very delicious but the service is very slow. It took half an hour for them to bring us the menu and another half for them to take the order and not to mention serving the food (it's my experience, maybe it's not for everyone like that)

Very tasty food, very authentic cuisine, and a very authentic interior designed with hot pink walls, embedded sombrero decor, Spanish artwork, and Spanish music always playing. It’s refreshing to see an authentic Spanish place in such a small area and so close to my location. Also, they prepare fresh juices such as watermelon juice, cantaloupe juice, horchata, and more!
Below average food and they got my order wrong or forgot stuff every time I've been there and had to go back. Not going back.

I placed an order of tacos and some nachos for the price of 30 dollars, which I don't understand because I had previously ordered two orders of tacos and the nachos for the same price! I don't recommend it! The food is good but they give you a small portion and the price is too high! there are better places!

Absolutely adore this place. The atmosphere is so authentic, it’s colorful and fun. The walls are hot pink, the whole place is decorated with sombreros, paintings of Mexican art, and beautiful, ostentatious decorations hanging from the ceiling. There is always Latin music playing as well inside. The food is incredible, you can tell everything is made from scratch and so fresh. They also offer a nice selection of beverages inside such as Jarritos, horchata, and melon juices.
