The food was very expensive for what we got and it was nothing special. We were disappointed. The cream of crab soup was excellent but definitely not a whole cup. Skimpy portions except the salad which was mostly lettuce. Not returning.

A fine example of a seafood restaurant/market. Their crab cakes are all lump crabmeat, and the waitresses are easy on your eyes.

Wife is a hard shell crab lover...and I dig shellfish! We could have went to a dozen places between York County and Northern MD. But had a tough time finding crabs, oysters, clams, mussels...with outdoor seating and Live Music! Well we discovered Capt. Bob's!! It was not far away and had Everything we were looking for! It was a Perfect Evening! The weather, music, food and service was Top Notch! Wifey got her crab on and I got my shellfish on! The soup was Amazing! Broasted Chicken and Sweet Tater Fries were The Best! The service, food quality, and entertainment could Not have been any better!! Thanks for providing my wife and I with a Great Experience!!

I hadn't been to Captain Bob's since they were a crab shack! We had the soft crab sandwiches and they were really good! Very small, soft crabs but two on the sandwich were perfect and they were perfectly cooked! Fries were good too! Fries were good too!

Charges extra for melted butter? and soda nonrefillable at $3 each? Crabs were way expensive for half dozen. Over $10 each xl? Probably won't be back.

Cold craps. They could have cared less about my complaint.

Waitress was friendly but absent minded never gave utensils napkins or offered condiments. I had to grab it from next table. Food is really expensive for what you get Jimmy fries were low grade fries a dollop of crab dip and melted cheese in the center other fries left bare…served on a thin paper plate-paid for an unbelievable 25.95. Asked for crab cake broiled got a fried one all you can taste is old grease. Onion rings and applesauce ended up being the main meal.. Music was too loud for the few customers there. Doz littleneck clams run $14.95 emphasis on little. There was a couple that came in sat down looked at the menu got up and left without ordering …should have taken that as a warning. $78.79 for this dining experience. Honestly bummed out to think of what could have had if I drove a little further south to Stonebridge Grille, Madonna’s or Casa Mia’s or north to The Paddock , Rockfish Grille. Oh well, another bad bump in discovering local eats… moving on.

The market price for jumbo crab cake with burgers, a jumbo crab cake sandwich was outrageously expensive!! Waitress should give more information on market price per pound so there isn't that surprise when the bill comes especially when the crab cake is specified as "jumbo" and comes out deep fried, over cooked and does not taste or look like a jumbo crab cake. (Both sandwiches). We could have went to a five star restaurant for the price of two sandwiches and cup of crab soup, that had barely any crab meat in it and very runny. I would most definitely think twice before going here. It was not the best birthday meal I have had..

Ordered 2 doz crabs for pickup. 8 crabs had either only 1 claw or no claws! When you pay $10 a crab, I would think you should have 2 claws per crab! There were none at the bottom of the bag. Guess you needed them for soup? Also has a few light crabs. Never again.

Drove from Harrisburg for the crab ? cakes. Was in the mood for an authentic Maryland crab cake without having to drive there! Tried Capt. Bob's Crabs for the first time, We'll worth the drive and price. Will be going back..

Crabs seasoned great and full. Had a party of 11 outside and everyone enjoyed the evening with live music as well.

Our appetizer came out after our meals, our crab cakes were over cooked. Our waitress brought 3 of the 4 forks we needed, after about 5-10 minutes of watching the rest of my party eat, I asked for a fork, which she forgot again. Greatly over-priced for the quality of food. I won't go back and definitely don't recommend it.

Quality crabs, great service and laid-back environment. Live music on weekends and BYOB. The only thing keeping them from a 5-star rating is that our crabs were not steamed fresh. They were steamed ahead of time, kept refrigerated and resteamed when we ordered. It's a shame, because the crabs are good quality and well seasoned, but the resteam method makes the meat a little mealy, they loose all their juiciness and a few of the crabs were cold in the center. Still, you're eating crabs in Railroad, PA, so that's pretty great just in itself.
