If you think you are better then hard working, kind people, and are easily offended, this is not the place for you. If you enjoy amazing food, generously poured drinks, banter, and don't mind whatever someone picked on the jukebox for your listening enjoyment, you are missing out if you do not eat here. We live in a small waterfront town about 3 hours from here and we felt right at home. So much so, we ate here 3 days in a row. The staff here is absolutely amazing. The food was better then some of the fancy places in DC I've been. First night was a Thursday and it was steak night. For $19 we had perfectly cooked and seasoned NY strips, potato, veggie and salad. Night two, I had the fish special of Artic char with a dill creama, rice, veggie and salad for the price of what I usually pay for a burger at home. Night 3 we split a cheesesteak and potato skins and good lord...we weren't in Philly but it sure did taste like it. The women running this place are hard working, salt of the earth but will not put up with a bad attitude (as they should! Don't be a j***** We frequent this area and are so thankful we discovered this gem. It will be the only place for us from here on out.

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and drink after visiting the many antique shops in the area. Staff was extremely friendly. The cook actually came out to table to see how our food was and we had only ordered appetizer and a drink. Recommend if in the area. They also have outside seating. History of the place is unique. Recommend the cheesesteak egg rolls.

I honestly have avoided this restaurant for the eight years I have lived in this area because every time I drive by, it looks like a dive bar. This may be fine for some and they seem to attract the bar crowd, but I am not a drinker, and my wife and I look for places that will accommodate our dietary needs. Not having a decent menu online is not helping draw in those of us who need to know what is being served. Calling ahead, I found that the owner was more than willing to prepare some food that agreed with our peculiar needs. So, as we walked in, we looked forward to what might be served. The dining room is very small but cozy, and there are steps to walk up to get to it, so it would not be suited for those who are physically challenged. All four of us, ordered the same dish with some adjustments made for differences in diets. The fresh salad was stunning and we enjoyed watching them prepare it through the clear opening to the kitchen. Then came the artichoke and crab dips, which were beautifully prepared and tasty as heck! The shrimp scampi was all that we hoped it would be and we all cleaned our dishes. The food was a big winner and I was stunned that a place so unattractive was able to deliver so satisfactorily! The price for our meal for four was also surprising as we were charged only a few dollars over a Franklin for everything. Great! But then we walked out through dingy hallway and down the steps to the old stone parking lot and I remembered why I never wanted to come here before.

we stopped in around 4pm Saturday and steph was behind the bar. there were a few locals playing pool and also at the bar. everyone was very friendly and made us feel welcome. after a few drinks we tried the cheese steak egg rolls and wings. both were delicious. OMG cheese steak egg rolls i mean c'mon sooo good and the wings were just the right size...you know not gigantic. had a regular cheese steak sub to go and it was awesome...would definitely recommend this place. would love to come back in the summer and check out the outside deck area

I have so many really great memories of this place. Ate hete after my first granddaughter was born. Shared many great family dinners there. Well they lost me. Not full at all. No real patrons. Ordered a steak salad and cheese steak. Steak salad arrived 20 minutes before cheese steak. Mind you a cheese steak no roll. And they had no excuse other then an explanation of where the steak came from. Are you kidding me. Well totally done with this place. So many other good options in the area. Good bye!
