Good food 😋, we ordered a cheese steak with onions, peppers and mushrooms. The same on a chicken cheese steak with ketchup and mustard with fries. The steaks were tasty and fries were great. There was also a bonus. They had Eagle's Jerseys on the wall with other Philly sports photos.

Howdie Foodies! BigDaveIsFat here with another review. This review takes us to Jay’s Steaks located in Royersford, Pa. My order consisted of a cheesesteak with American cheese, extra onions and lite ketchup with a side of sweet peppers. This sandwich was good. Real good. No it’s not top tier like Gazzos or JD’s but it is hitting. It was well seasoned and the steak melted in my mouth. No Diddy! The bread to meat ratio was great and the seeded roll was awesome. I want to say this steak is better than Pudges, but I can’t. Reason being is because this cheesesteak needed more seasoning. If this jawn had the seasoning from Pudges, it would move past them in ranking and place them among greats. It was that good. So good that I ate it all without stopping. Yep! I wolfed it down in minutes because my name BigDaveIsFat says it all.
“Get Your Grub On” FOLKS! Check out my review of Pudge’s Steaks & Hoagies where you can see the seasoning in the cheesesteak!

So far I’ve had a cheesesteak with whiz and one with provolone, a Lassie (chicken cutlet), a Grandfather (corned beef) and a side order of rings. Not all at once, though ;-)

Every thing was delicious, amply portioned and competitively priced. One note: their “O” rings are very good. “O” rings are often just ground onion and breading shaped into ring and fried. Jay’s contain whole rings of onion which are breaded and then fried. A little pricey at $6.95 but I was willing to pay the price as I’m an aficionado of rings.

I did not rate the Service because I ordered take-out online and every things was ready when I arrived.

I did not rate Atmosphere because Jay's is just a store-front operation in a strip mall and, besides, atmosphere is not a factor in picking a sandwich shop.

I stopped in here this week for the first time, now I’m mad I didn’t stop sooner! The people who work there are so friendly and welcoming. And the food was absolutely fabulous. I got the Buffalo chicken cheesesteak and brought home a regular cheesesteak for my husband. My daughter got a gluten free roll for her hoagie and it was hands down the best GF roll EVER! They also fresh slice the lunch meat when you order, which manners it so much better. Everything was so good! I will definitely be back when I’m in the neighborhood again.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while. but since you don't publish your prices on your website, I won't be checking it out anytime soon. I'm sure other people feel the same way.

Walked in and waited nicely at the counter. Two people behind the counter (one cutting meat and one slowly lumbering around) never once acknowledged me. The touch pad the looks like you can order from doesn't work at all. After a few mins i left cause it was clear no one was going to help me. So basically I drove from pottstown to royersford for no reason. Not a far drive but still annoying. Oh well, we got a few good cheese steak places in town anyways.

We're looking for a new hoagie shop after ours closed. Jays was the first we tried and we were not disappointed. Roast beef was tender and pink and the tuna was very good as well. Looking forward to trying cheesesteaks next.

Wanted to try this spot a for a while. Ingredients are great but lacking saltiness on the meat. This is also a cheese on top cheesesteak place as opposed to cheese & steak mixed in, not my preference.

Ordered a cheesesteak and an Italian hoagie here yesterday. Cheesesteak was juicy and the long hots were chopped up and mixed in nicely. Roll was great, not too hard like most places.
Italian hoagie was delicious with plenty of meat. If you haven't tried it I'd suggest you do. We will be back for sure!

My husband and I decided to try this place on a whim and holy cow, were we impressed! Everyone was super friendly, the food was reasonably priced, but when our cheesesteaks came out, they were PACKED with meat! Absolutely amazing, we will absolutely be coming back!

Service was amazing. Fries were okay. The cheese steak itself was big but the 1st bite I took, spit it right out and got my refund respectfully. I love giving places a chance, I just couldn't deal with chewy fat being in my sandwich. There are places that sell ribeye without fat in their steak. Heading to jersey now guys, hit up DARS STEAKS AND THE DONKEYS PLACE! you won't be disappointed!!! Nothing chewy in that sandwich! It was big but not even worth the bite. Amazing employees though. I love them. Have such big hearts and I will be giving this place a 5 star because the employees make a huge difference. Maybe in the future they will have ribeye without the fat in it for sale.
