Really cool old tavern with a neat layout. Just grabbed some fries because there were no vegan options on the menu. Server was friendly.

As an old timer its hard to get my dietary needs right, but my waiter cody told me the staff in the back is very well equipped. I ordered the crab soup, the taste was phenomenal and from someone who is orginally from Manhattan let me tell you they know what they’re doing!

For my entree I asked if my mash potatoes could be very soft (because I have weak teeth). Cody assured me that they were freshly made and served hot by their cook! I also had the salmon which was cooked to perfection, I must say the environment, staff and food is all way above par.

The cleanliness was also up to snuff, I sat in what they call the Shaffer room named after a historical figure who founded this very tavern! What an amazing experience! I would recommend if you love the olden days and great food!

Our server Jordan (spelling?) was a BAMF too!!

Excellent first experience since moving out here from Pittsburgh, and looking forward to many more visits!!!

I didn't have their food, but the menu looked good. I had three draft beers. The price was reasonable, and the service/atmosphere was great. I will definitely be going back to try their food and drinks!

Everything started out ok, a little slow but fine. Our appetizers were a little cold but tasted good. Our salads came shortly after and were fine. Then we waited a long time for our entrees, they all came at different times and were cold. I ordered a Delmonico but what I got instead was prime rib with the toppings that were supposed to be on my Delmonico. I have worked in the restaurant industry and I know that it is the same cut of meat but they should be cooked differently. It was very expensive for cold unimpressive food, many upcharges for simple things. Service was slow and the waitress charged us $8 for a beer that the keg kicked and it was less than half full. As we were leaving it looked as though everyone working was standing outback having a huddle. Tables around us were complaining about the food and how terrible the service was, this is totally inappropriate.

A beautiful facility with friendly staff and great food. Save room for dessert

Dietary restrictions: I ordered the salmon and was able to stick to my gluten-free and dairy-free restricted diet.

We arrived at the Franklin house at 6:55pm on 7/12. We walked in and it was empty 1 table on the tavern side by the bar. We ordered our 2 drinks and also ordered our food an appetizer and two sandwiches. Nothing fancy. About 715 another table comes in orders food and they ordered two of the same exact items we ordered. We get our drinks after 15 mins. I ordered a strawberry margarita and she brought me a strawberry martini… it’s now 8pm no appetizer no food at all. We see food coming it’s the other tables food that was there after us. Waitress comes over (who is not friendly) we questioned when our food will be out since we have been here since 7. She couldn’t answer so we told her to please cancel our order this is nuts. She walked away mumbling. She came back with our check had to still pay for our drinks. Told us there are two cooks one was working on one order the other was working on another. I don’t like to complain because I’ve work in food business but this was horrible. Will never be back.

I don't understand the one star reviews. Great service, great staff, amazing food. I got the Delmonico with Bleu cheese and mushrooms. That was the juiciest steak I've ever had. You gotta be into Bleu cheese because it's covered, but d@mn it's a life changing steak. It's a whole new steak experience. The side veggies were good. I covered the mashed potatoes in some of the house made ranch dressing and those mashed potatoes transformed into an amazing experience. The dessert selection is decedent and rich and varied. They've got some amazing stuff there, but I passed on that. It all looked good there.

Really bad service. Way too slow- an hour till actually started eating. Franklin House lager - served totally different beer. FH beer is on tap , so how do you get that wrong? Fr onion soup- lacking.

Always loved the Franklin House but last night was a miss. The food was just ok plus the portions were more than small. My wine glass was barely at half but the next table, their glasses were 3/4th full. My husband barely had a spoonful of mashed potatoes. I don’t want ginormous portions, just normal size. They also now charge a service fee for using a credit card. Maybe I missed the sign regarding this, but feel they need to be telling their customers when using a credit card or be posting this somewhere. Lots of flies too. That just turns me off. I guess people need to start carrying cash. Just disappointed for the first time ever at the Franklin House.

Girls Day Out. My friend recommended we drive to Pennsylvania and visit this restaurant. It was well worth it!
Our food was excellent and the wait staff outstanding. For my restaurant fans, please add this one to your list!

Mediocre food. Overpriced. No prices printed on menu. Stood 10 minutes at entrance - we had reservations- finally I went into bar and asked if there were someone to seat us. Overall needs a good makeover in food quality, staffing and atmosphere. No plans to return.
