Staff was super kind and friendly but the food was unfortunately not the best. Ordered Pad Thai, and the sauce that it was made with was basically ketchup.

The black dog is no longer. Now Hong Kong Cafe, not so good. Spare ribs were anorexic, barely a bite on each rib. Lo mein below par. On the lookout for a new Chinese restaurant.

Sadly, Black Dog Cafe is now under new ownership so previous reviews may no longer apply. We are really going to miss this place since it was our go to Asian Fusion restaurant and the Li family were consistently providing great food always with fresh veggies. Unfortunately the property owner raised the rent significantly and they had to close up. I haven’t seen very good reviews for the new owners so be advised it may not be the same quality or service.

This place has changed ownership and name. Now it's Hong Kong Cafe...very unfortunate. We loved Black Dog but no more. We ordered the Honey Walnut Shrimp for takeout. When we got home and began to eat, we couldn't chew the shrimp. Whatever coating was used, it was thick and very tough and chewy. We literally had to take the shrimp out of the coating to eat it. Very disappointed...we won't be going back.

So sad that this place went under new ownership! My husband and I LOVED black dog!! Got take out the other night. My orange chicken was ok but def wasn't the same. My husband gets general tsos chicken extra spicy every time we ordered from there and this time it wasn't spicy and didn't have the flavor it used to have. His fried rice was awful!!! It looked like white rice with a tiny but of soy sauce in it and the peas and carrots were all shriveled up and didn't look cooked. We got the dumplings that we get every time and they even tasted different. We are so upset and disappointed.

Black Dog used to terrific. We keep retrying the food hoping it goes back to it's former standards. Hint the chicken that was used in dishes was LIGHTLY coated, now it is a thick coating that is full of oil. Please rise above again.

Excellent Chinese food and a great choice for takeout at a reasonable price with friendly service. This is our takeout of choice when buying locally in Skippack.

This is our favorite local Chinese place and we have been coming here for 10 years. We've tried all the other local options and Black Dog is way better than the rest. Food is very good-we typically get the curries, General Tso, Hunan dishes, Szechuan dishes, Singapore noodles, and soups and salads...all are terrific options. Price is right and service is always great. We get takeout now but pre-COVID, we would eat in all the time. If you are looking for solid Chinese options, don't pass.
