We always enjoy brunch at Mediterra.
My choice today of two eggs, bacon, avocado, and toast was delicious as always (How can you mess that up?) but my partner’s choice of avocado toast was terrible. (How can you mess that up?)
Somehow, they managed to.
She couldn’t even finish half of it.
They obviously have a new chef in the kitchen.
What we got today was slightly burnt toast with a mushy coating of tasteless avocado, a bunch of small sliced tomatoes, and some cucumbers. There were no sesame seeds, nor coriander, salt or pepper nor anything else that used to make this tasty and outstanding.
There was no taste at all.
It was incredibly disappointing and something we will not order again.
How Do you screw up avocado toast?

I had a piece of plastic in my breakfast and I was really disappointed. 😔

It's a very popular place on Sunday morning with quite a line to order food but it was served fairly quickly for us. The service was friendly and efficient with free coffee refills. It's definitely up-market with food selection and prices to match.

Hi-
I’m not one to normally write a review but I feel like it’s needed in this situation. I ordered the Gluten Free Oat Flour Pancakes which I got served cold and with a large piece of hair intertwined in it. When I brought it back up, I wasn’t apologized to and only offered to make another. I wasn’t a fan of it to begin with but having the hair added to it ruined my appetite for it regardless. Just was disappointed with how it was handled. Also, I went with 3 other friends and we were sitting at a large table with another group of 4 and we were specifically asked to go to the bar top table or somewhere else in the cafe. We said yes of course but then the “large” group came in and it was the same amount of people as us, 4. We were confused why we had to move when it was the same amount of people as us. My friend was still finishing her coffee from the cafe. I truly don’t like writing bad reviews but I was an excited customer and heard great things about Mediterra but wouldn’t drive 35 mins again to go there ever. I hope your experience is better!

I’ve been to Mediterra Cafe before and it was amazing, but it seems that the quality goes down each time i go. I have a gluten and dairy allergy so I made sure to tell the woman who took my order, as it says on the board to make them aware. When I got my order, they gave me normal bread and cheese on my sandwich. I had to go to the back and tell them that I had allergies again, cause they didn’t seem to care or make a note when I told them the first time. I was in a group of four and right after we finished our food, a server came and asked us to move to the bar seats because there was a large party that was waiting for the table. When we went to the bar seats, the “large party” sat at our table and it was 4 people. 4! I was appalled that they asked us to move only for 4 people to take our seats. I don’t think i will be coming back because it was not worth the money or the trip!

$17 for a tomato and mozzarella sandwich is insane. $4 for half a cup of tea with milk. What is this world coming to? The sandwich was good, but incredibly difficult to eat as the bread was I’m assuming “artisan” and VERY hard/crusty. It was so chewy and the sandwich fell apart. The mozzarella pieces were so thick it was nearly impossible to eat without taking it apart. I will never in my life go back here. I hope they stop using that bread and I’m glad I didn’t tip!

The cashier was very nice to me. This would be my second time coming here and first time ordering food. I waited 30 min for a chopped salad to go. I noticed how long I was waiting and everyone that order after me received their to-go food, after their name was called with a smile. My food was sitting at the bar. Noone called my name or walk to me where all the other people were standing to receive their food. Let's keep in mind I'm the only black person there. I will never come here again. I believe it was done purposely. I had to ask an employee about my order, he helped me and he was very nice but I was already angry.

The food! Delicious and carefully prepared. The service! Engaging and friendly without if feeling ‘service robot friendly’.
The place is tastefully decorated and arranged, always something around to catch your eye while you enjoy this superior cafe /dining experience.
