This was one my favorite places to go to until this last few weeks. There appears to be a change in staffing and the original helpful hosts no longer seem to be there, replaced with inexperienced and frankly quite rude hostesses. I know restaurant staffing is quite challenging at the moment, but I really think I would continue to keep looking for better team members. Rudeness ruins businesses.
The food and wine were great and the server was fantastic.
Everything we ordered was incredible. For starters we ordered the mixed olives and fried mozzarella, which wasn’t your standard mozz stick at a bar, this was fresh mozz slabs breaded and fried. Super unique and perfect. The chicken sandwich was one of the best we’ve ever had. The fries were thick cut but still super crispy on the outside and nice and creamy inside. The Mahi was incredible as well. Perfectly cooked fish with a j*** rub served with a sweet and spicy mango salsa. Cocktails were really unique and delicious as well. This place is the definition of a gem.
Had a great family dinner this evening out on the patio. Food was wonderful. Staff is great.
A great new casual restaurant in the space formerly occupied by the more formal Bruneaux restaurant. We were a group of 7 on the Memorial Day weekend, including 2 children (9 & 11). The children's menu was well thought out and very good. The Caesar Salad was a particularly good starter, with the lettuce chopped into small pieces unlike the usual treatment. A couple of adults had Fish & Chips, which were excellent, two others had the Halibut, which was good, and one had the Chicken Parmesan, which was disappointing. The only truly disappointing aspect of this otherwise very good experience was the very long lag time between ordering our drinks and their delivery to our table. None of the cocktails were complex or time consuming to make, so it was annoying to wait so long, something which all of us commented on (not just one person). The dining room was full, but diners arrived at staggered times, so we doubt that’s the reason for the delay. Perhaps they had an inexperienced bar tender, or our order was misplaced. Otherwise, the service was very good. In addition to the dining room, there is a large patio, which was not available for our visit because of inclement weather. Highly recommended.
Female owned, managed by a genius, the chef is a food god. Fourth time in two months here. This is a destination and a (if you can) go to restaurant. You won’t be disappointed by any dish, but I HIGHLY suggest the seared tuna + shishito peppers and the Cesar salad. The chicken sandwich is also ?. Carmen is a fantastic human. Hope she’s your server regardless your night will be a memorable, lovely experience.
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had and great waitress, service! Beautiful place, super clean and well run.
This was hands down the best restaurant I have been to in Pittsburgh. Everything was top notch from the service, to the cocktails, to the food. The manager was out all night chatting with guests and telling them about the restaurant's history. The ambience was great and even though the patio isn't open for another two weeks, they had it all set up with tables and lights and encouraged guests to take a look. We will definitely be back - I cannot recommend this place highly enough!
We went to Sewickley Tavern to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was perfect from food to drinks to service. We had the veal chop and cavatelli..delicious! Chocolate cake and espresso martini for dessert!! Highly recommend!!
I am a foodie and successful restaurant owner. The Tavern has the best food I have had in PA. 4 of us had different meals and everyone was raving about their meal. Jumbolaya, wagyu burger, tuna, Cobb salad, cheese platter, oysters.... Delicious. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

First-class restaurant on the main street in Sewickley (Beaver Street). Nice atmosphere and very attractive layout. Limited but sufficient menu. Prompt and friendly service. On-line reservations recommended. Free on street parking after 5:00 pm on weekdays. Little off putting however to be told when the next reservation for your table was scheduled so you do not stay too long. Food was very good. We will gladly return.
Great service and food. Creative dishes. Innovative atmosphere. Comfortable environment. Friendly staff.
The service was excellent from start to finish. Chris was an amazing and very welcoming host, and the fact that our server actually used proper serving etiquette blew my mind, don’t get service like that hardly anywhere these days. Now the food, I was literally impressed by a burger. I’ve never had a restaurant’s burger completely sell me on the establishment and that says a lot considering that is one of the simpler options on the menu. The filet was cooked to perfection and the demi glaze was phenomenal. Everything was top quality even down to the crystal clear ice my bourbon was served on. I highly recommend to any and everyone and will be planning my next dinner here very very soon!
Took my lovely fiancée here for a Valentine's date. It was a truly incredible experience, and I think Sewickley Tavern might be the best restaurant I've ever been to.First off, gotta give props to a place that literally opened right when COVID started, and did so in style. Second off, the minute we walked in, my fiancee and I were amazed with how beautiful the space was—we felt like we were in a movie and the Jazz Age at the same time. We kicked ourselves later for not taking a selfie in front of the restaurants main window. Third off, the staff were both very friendly and very professional; dare I say, even on a Valentine's date, we enjoyed having their company.Fourth, and maybe most importantly, the food and drinks were absolutely delicious in every sense of the word, and without qualification. The bar is very well stocked, and the bartender was able to make my favorite cocktail (even though it's rather obscure) perfectly. The food itself—I had the Scotch Egg, the Beef Tartare, and the Caesar Salad, she had the Sourdough loaf and the Lobster pasta—was a big hit. Every dish was sumptuous and excellent, high quality yet still reasonably priced. I even took the Caesar Salad home with a lot of excitement because it was just that tasty! Will come back. No woulds—my fiancee and I WILL come back.
Absolutely phenomenal. Food is delicious and perfectly cooked. Cocktails are fun and delicious. Vibe is modern, casual and upscale all in one. Go for burgers and beers, or seabass and wine. Amazing on both accounts. Service was perfect and calm.
