Amazing little place of you are fishing or hunting up here. Great service a nice atmosphere. And the staff is very nice. Definitely recommend going here

What’s the point of having a menu. We chose to come here due to the lovely sounding veg options for the carvery but our of the 14 options on the menu, 9 weren’t on offer and we were told they wouldn’t be until February in some cases (4 months away). The pathetic options that were available were overcooked or badly prepared, such as the over boiled carrots or the cauliflower cheese that had never seen cheese in its life. The kids couldn’t even eat their burgers. Do you know how bad a cheese burger has to be for a 7 year old not to eat it? Do yourself a favour and just go to McDonald’s round the corner.
Visited family in the area and it was convenient to stay at a hotel locally. This hotel is a lovely place, rooms are clean and serviced daily. Tea, coffee and biscuits replenished daily too. All staff are cheerful and helpful, they make you feel very welcome. Food was ok, we only had a sandwich but no complaints. We will return when we are in the area again.

Good food nice people
Had a superb afternoon. All the staff were incredibly welcoming and the service was faultless. Went for a meal and a family get together. The food was superb and had a really relaxing afternoon. Couldn’t fault anything about the Blue Jay and really looking forward to our next visit
Avoid terrible food as ate twice before staff dont know what soup of day is ..turnd up 4 quiz no quiz shocking lost 6 ppl tonight its a hotel 4 ppl who come and go who will never eat here again avoid avoid avoid..and dont come here.
Over night Business trip Value is exceptional Carvery was a little sad and not very warm, the beef was dry Waited an age for breakfast despite only 4 people, sausages were deep fried…… However the worst point the trip reeked of smoke in the bathroom
