We were in the area for the weekend for the car show when we got done we went to google to look for restaurants in the area the KMJ diner came up and we like old time dinners so we tried it. Amber was server she was awesome and was the best server we've had in a long time, she kept our drinks filled, very friendly, keep checking to see if we needed anything. where were from in central Maryland we don't get that kind of service anymore unfortunately. the food was awesome, the milkshake was one of the best I've had. they have a large menu that has just about anything you can think of. we liked it so much we went back for dinner the next night. next time were in town we will definitely be back. After visiting the Parx Casino in Shippensburg, we searched Google for a restaurant. I’d seen this new owner and was curious. So, we chose KMJ Diner on the north end of town. The landscape looked unkempt, but I was hungry. In we went…it was a good choice. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. After a few questions, I ordered a Tuesday special of pork and sauerkraut. My partner ordered breakfast, which is served all day. Our drinks were kept filled. Thanks. We were seated in the front. New flooring made for unpleasant sound while wait staff dumped dishes. Ask to be seated in the back if you are sound sensitive. I wear hearing aids. The food was good. Not salty but flavorful. One pet peeve is the oil used to fry home fries. This oil was not fake butter. It didn’t override the taste of potato. Give this relatively new owner a thumbs up.

Food was mostly mediocre. My mother ordered a hamburger and the bread was so stale it fell apart when she lifted the top bun. Her meat was dry and old looking. Well of course she wasn't going to eat that. All though the issue was brought to attention with the woman serving us she just looked annoyed, took the plate, and charged full price for the plate. For a nasty old hamburger that wasn't even edible. I had a stew, it was lazily prepared with giant chunks of celery and potatoes, and barely any broth. I love plenty of vegetables but at least cut them small enough to fit in a person's mouth lol. But anyway 1 star for inedible food without either an apology or reimbursement because either or would have been acceptable.

Friendly host, great prices, great portions, very clean diner, plenty of parking. The only critique I have for this visit is as an out-of-towner, it would have been nice for our waitress to inform us that she doesn't take the payment at the table, we can go up to the koisk at the front desk to be checked out. We waited at the table for about 8 minutes after she handed us the check and when she sat down at the bar with her back to us we were wondering what was going on. Decent place overall, just some instructions for paying the bill would have been nice. We ordered the egg and cheese sandwich special and the KMJ Diner Breakfast special.

I honestly can't believe why this restaurant does not have five stars. First I have to give kudos to the wait staff. We have been here a few times and we've had two different waitresses and each of these ladies has gone out of their way to check on us multiple times, to apologize profusely when one item was wrong on one of the meals, and to be as personable as possible to everyone in the restaurant. We went a few months ago and the food was amazing.. ten Stars and we got a senior meal. Yesterday I got liver and onions with three huge pieces of liver, loaded with gravy and onions, a huge serving of mashed potatoes and a very large salad. The second that we walked in the door we were greeted by our server and immediately seated and given drinks. My husband and I each ordered a senior meal and we both commented on how huge the portions were. At one point one of the folks from the back came out to look around, smiled and returned to the back. I read a review that mentioned how the dark-skinned people come out and glare at you. I have no idea what that person is talking about. This young man could not have been any friendlier. Is it a typical diner? Yes but it holds its own for sure. I'm telling you this is some of the best food I've tasted in a long time. And they're most definitely generous with the portions. Pricing was fair as well. Like I said this time I got the liver and onions with gravy, mashed potatoes and a salad. Last time I got the turkey and stuffing mashed potatoes and a salad. Honestly that senior meal was so much that I made three meals out of it and I can eat my fair share. I was a little leery at first when we drove into the parking lot because we were only one of the few people there but it got a bit crowded later. Give this place a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed

I got food poisoning from here Easter Day. I ordered fried chicken, mashed potatoes and a cup of chili. The chicken was well cooked and dry. The problem was likely the storage of the chili I recieved it barely warm. Far from hot more like room temp. The mashed potatoes and gravy were cold (like refrigerator cold). They reheated the potatoes. I really think its the cup of chili that made me sick. I was showing signs of food poisoning within a half an hour of leaving already bloating. I had a 3 hour drive home and it was awful. Had to stop 4 times and I am still so sick almost 36 hours later. I've had food poisoning 2 times prior in my life and the same thing happen where I felt sick quickly after. My children's food was fine (pancakes and hotdog) and my husbands bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel was not hot either. Not sure why all our food was so cold it was not busy at all. I think most the food was reheated. It didn't taste good at all. Worst $60 in food ever spent and a nice Easter present for the road. 🤮

Typical diner but clean and friendly. Service was quick and efficient. Server returned many times to check if all was good. We ordered turkey & stuffing and ham loaf. Both came quickly and each filled the plates with generous portions. Even the side salads were large and fresh. Will surely stop here again when in Shippensburg.
stopped in for breakfast had the biscuits and gravy the staff was friendly the food was awesome and worth the cost will definitely eat here again

Over and hour before closing and no soup, food came lousy. baked potatoes so cold butter would not melt, crab cakes were black outside, cold inside and actually tasted like tuna salad heavy on the mayo. we let the waitress know who did nothing about it. didn't seem to have a care. tried reaching out privately and could not even be bothered to acknowledge the issue or apologize. Will not be returning.
