Out of town asked hotel for diner breakfast...The Wheelhouse Cafe didn't disappoint. Nice clean place. Definitely that local diner feel. Good diner coffee. Over medium eggs cooked just right. Asked for crispy bacon...came out crispy not burnt like someplace do. Asked for the mini hashbrown cakes...really good.

Very nice place with a very peaceful atmosphere. The bacon and eggs (over-easy) were very good. I also had French toast that was egg dipped, which were very good and you can also get them batter dipped which would make them sweeter and more like a pancake. I will try that next time. Highly recommended.

My family and I were at Wheelhouse this past weekend. They did a great job accommodating our larger party. Though they were busy, the server was friendly, patient, and service was fast. The food was great and very affordable!

We were traveling in the area and stopped for breakfast. Seemed like a good place to stop. The server was pleasant as she took our breakfast orders. My omelette was good and my husband's breakfast was also good. My sister ordered only juice and a blueberry muffin for her meal. Her muffin was served to her as a warmed pile of crumbs. My sister asked about the mess on the plate and the server said that she had already asked the cook to replace that crumbled mess with another muffin and he told her that muffin was okay. I have no idea as to why that muffin was in such a mess and how it got that way. And why a person would serve a meal to another in such a state. Because of this, I would never recommend this place.

Great little diner in Shippensburg. I stopped there with my wife the day after a concert at the Performing Arts Center. The service was excellent. The food was very reasonably priced, and the quality of the food was very good. Big surprise, I had to try out the sausage biscuits and gravy. It was better than average. I'm guessing for my conversation with the waitress that they don't make their own biscuits which is a bit of a shame, but understandable given the time required. Homemade biscuits would definitely step this meal up a bit. My wife had the Ship breakfast which included a side of their French toast. This is not your mother's French toast, as they dip the Texas toast in a pancake-like batter. Definitely a little bit different and quirky but good. The menu isn't huge but it met our needs well. We noticed while we were there that the local fire/ems staff eats here which is always a great recommendation for a breakfast restaurant in my opinion.

Went to the Wheelhouse Cafe a few months back with a friend to check out the food. I ordered the sausage and gravy and the Blockbuster sandwich. The food was good and the service was excellent. I spoke with a member of the kitchen staff tall and lanky fella he was professional and friendly. If it wasn't 2.5 hours away I would frequent this establishment a lot. If you are a local, make sure you stop by.

Stopped here on a whim for birthday breakfast and omg! The food is delicious, the staff is delightful, and the place itself is small but homey and inviting. Absolutely loved the whole experience Dietary restrictions: This diner stocks turkey bacon! I have a severe pork allergy, and finding a place that has non-pork breakfast meats is HUGE!

Stopped here for breakfast prior to a college visit in the area. Service was fast and friendly and food was delicious. I had a simple fried egg with bacon and crispy home fries. My daughter had blueberry pancakes. They were thick and fluffy...and filling. I recommend this place for breakfast if you are in the area.

Fresh, hot breakfast served quickly across from the university and not far from the Marriott. A little off Main Street.

Great little cafe! It was packed when we stopped in but were immediately seated, greeted, handed menus and our drink order taken. Our drinks were quickly delivered. Once we were ready to order, the order was placed correctly and delivered quickly. Our waitress checked up on us frequently. The food was very good and the portions were large. We had the Eye Opener and the Country Mix. I would say the eggs seemed a bit overdone and didn't seem like it was 2 eggs (they could have been "small" sized eggs as I'm used to cooking with "large" sized eggs). The hashbrowns were shredded, which are my favorite, but didn't seem done well enough. I noticed a child behind me had hashbrown patties, but those were never offered as an option to my daughter, so I ended up eating her shredded as she doesn't like them that way. Overall, we were both happy with our meals and service and will definitely come back again to try something else!
