I sometimes forget about this place on the edge of south side but went there for lunch a week ago. On one occasion I called in and it was ready to go when I got there. The other time my family stopped in for lunch. Food was good and service was quick and friendly!

Salad was fresh, big portion, and didn't skip on the veggies. The Buffalo chicken wrap was tasty and saucy but didn't fall apart. Service was helpful and kind.

First time trying South Side Subs. Talked to the owner while he finished up making my order. Really genuine nice guy. I really enjoyed my cheesesteak! I got the Mountie, it was very tasty. The only thing I would change is that I wish the bread was toasted, maybe I should have specified though.They have specials all week long at a really good price point. I will definitely be going back. Can’t wait to try $8 dozen wings on Thursday!

This awful wildly overpriced sub reminded me of the stone soup story, in which shysters trick a village into making them soup by adding just a stone and the villagers adding everything else thatThis bland flavorless “sub” was edible once I added seasonings, mayo, peppers, onions, oil and vinegar - you know the stuff that every other sub place on earth puts on a sub.I was skeptical when I saw two high school aged kids working. Then I thought - “you worked in sub shops in high school and made great subs, maybe they can.”So I gave it a chance. Nope awful.It isn’t the kids fault. The person who owns or runs the place, like my owner manager in high school, should have a formula or recipe that includes - mayo, seasoning, peppers, vinegar and oil, onions.I’ll pull this review if they a) return my money and b) give me a large turkey sub that has everything my awful sub lacked. I’ll give them a second chance.

South Side Subs has fantastic customer service and everyone from taking the order to delivering is so kind and courteous. I placed an order for delivery that I was afraid would be a huge pain - I wanted two cold Italian subs, but with all condiments and veggies on the side, so that when we got to eat our late dinner, the subs wouldn't be soggy already. WOW. I was so impressed. Plenty of toppings packaged neatly in separate containers and generous amounts of oil & vinegar, Mayo, and hot pepper relish in neatly sealed and wrapped condiment cups. It was perfect to put together our own subs later on in the evening and the ingredients were all fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!
We gave this place a try for our dinner on Saturday evening. I ordered a cheesteak, and my wife and daughter got salads. We also got fries, and Mac and cheese bites. My cheesteak was done perfectly. They guys behind the counter even checked to see if I wanted to ruin my cheesteak by putting lettuce on it. The fact that on the menu it doesn't come with lettuce and tomato earns respect. A true cheesteak that is done the right way! The salads were good. Although the amount of dressing was not enough for my wife. The fresh cut fries were some of the best I have had in a while. They were crispy and salty. Now for the price, it's a fair price for the quality you get. Unfortunately, most locals will shy away because they will want more food for the price. Stop and give them a try. I

One of the BEST CHEESESTEAKS I've EVER HAD!! Onion rings-DELISH! Cheesesteak eggrolls-OMG!! The sub roll they use is to DIE FOR!! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!A guy beside us had the QUESADILLA, and said it was great and big! Nice guys, too! Clean..could find NO FAULTS!! Keep it up!!

Great subs and they do a good job keeping gluten free rolls from being contaminated. I am a fairly sensitive celiac and have never had an issue eating there. A+
