Fun little place, friendly and cozy. The food was so good! The space is tiny, but that's part of the charm. I'll be back!

We have visited this restaurant for both lunch and dinner. Most recently for dinner, with a reservation, as our group of 4 wanted to participate in Trivia Night. The place was full, with people sitting outside, at the bar and in the dining room participating in the night's event.
The food is always very good. On this night a couple of us enjoyed the sSteamed Clam Special with a side Ceasar Salad, while our other diners had a Hot Roasted Turkey Sandwich with Gravy and Fries and a Beef and Cheddar Sandwich. On other occasions we've enjoyed the Salmon Tacos, Fried Shrimp Basket and the Shwings Appetizer consisting of a half dozen Chicken Wings with choice of sauce and a half pound of Old Bay Steamed Peel and Eat Shrimp. The Chocolate Peanut Butter Thunder Cake is a tasty dessert as well.

When visiting on two different Trivia Nights we found the service friendly, but frenetic trying to handle the numerous parties. On our lunch trips the service was friendly, attentive and laid back.

Top-notch food and service at the Penguin Hotel. We had shrimp tacos, old bay wings, and the fish & chips. All were excellent!

They also have a ton of beers on tap and outdoor seating.

I really enjoy going to The Penguin. It would get a five stars across the board if it had more room. I'm the type that goes to a restaurant on the spur of the moment. That's usually not gonna go well at The Penguin. So unless you want to sit at what space might be available at the bar, make a reservation.
That being said, I have always had good food here. Most times I get a burger or fish and chips. The atmosphere is one of the things I like most about this place. When you walk in, you feel at home. The staff is friendly as well as the patrons. Make a reservation and check it out!!!

Come in as strangers, leave as friends. That's a really enticing logo. Unfortunately our very first time in we'd say not really true. Service was just ok. We walked in, sat at the bar and watched two ladies walk past us about twenty times before we were acknowledged. No hello, be right with you, nothing. So that kinda sucked. The rest of the evening was better. The food is very good. Only complaint is the teeny tiny amount of blue cheese you get with your wings. It was actually pretty funny. Maybe we're just big dippers!! But the food was really good! Nice big, flavor filled wings and yummy onion rings with a nice sauce. The drinks were good.

We can’t say enough good things about this amazing place! The food was to die for! Our waitress (the manager) was so kind and we enjoyed conversations with her. The locals made us feel right at home! It was like we were their family! We would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone in the area!

Have never had a bad meal or experience here. Only stop in 2-3 times a year. But FYI it appears that your website has been hacked by a Russian gaming site or something.

One and Done.
Our visit to The Penguin Hotel in Stevens, PA started with hope and ended in frustration. We waited over 30 minutes for basic appetizers and more than an hour for entrees. Only four of the six meals arrived on time; the remaining two were delayed and incorrect—my medium-well steak was practically raw, and my friend’s salad came loaded with onions after requesting none.
Service was inattentive throughout. Multiple requests for water and sweetener went ignored, and the server’s dismissive tone and lack of eye contact set the wrong mood from the beginning.
Because of my diabetic condition, I had to eat in scattered stages just to manage my blood sugar. A meal should never be that stressful—or medically risky—due to poor timing and communication.
After sharing my experience publicly, I was harassed by staff on my personal page and ultimately blocked from their Facebook. Instead of addressing feedback with professionalism, they chose silence and censorship.
You can block me online, but you can’t block the truth.

Had a truly disappointing experience during what was meant to be a special night out. Our party of six had reservations, and our friends surprised us with the outing. It was my first—and without a doubt, my last—visit to this establishment. We ordered waters and iced tea to start, but not everyone received what they asked for. One friend requested sweetener and had to ask three separate times before it was finally brought—15 minutes later. That delay alone was frustrating. We waited well over an hour for our food. When the meals came out, only four of us received ours. I did get my extra side of onion rings—but not the entrée I ordered. Those onion rings were meant to be enjoyed with my hot steak, not eaten separately. Due to my diabetic medical condition, I had to eat my meal in stages to avoid complications, which made the experience all the more difficult. After another 15 minutes, the last two dishes arrived—mine was a steak, and my friend’s was a salmon salad. Neither was correct. My steak was rare despite clearly stating otherwise, and my friend’s salad came with onions, which he specifically requested to have left off. I asked for my steak to be recooked and repeated my request. The staff member returned, apologized—but deflected the blame, even though the mistake was clearly hers. She didn’t speak directly to me, and the dismissive tone throughout the interaction was hard to ignore. While our meals were ultimately comped—including Tom’s—that’s not the point. A manager or owner never came over to offer an apology. A night that should’ve been joyful turned into an evening of frustration—and that speaks volumes about how much improvement is needed.

We used to live in Lancaster County MANY years ago and stopped to visit this iconic spot. So glad it’s still in business. Great homemade chips and tasty chicken fingers. (We only stopped for a snack.) jade makes a mean mojito and is so very pleasant. We loved visiting and will definitely make it a stop during our travels through the county in the future.
