Went there today for my Birthday Diner today. A day late but oh well. Best King cut prime rib I've had in the Area. Thank you!

What fun! Ten of us celebrated Mother's Day at Penn's Tavern, and it was delightful. Brandy, our waitress, was fantastic. We were all impressed with how quickly our food arrived, and even better, everyone loved their meals. To top it off, the weather was perfect, making the view of the scenic (and yes, muddy!) Susquehanna River even more enjoyable.

We always have a wonderful dining experience at Penn's! Never had a ho-hum meal . . . . Every meal we've had - utterly delicious!!! The staff is great - friendly and very accomodating. The location is awesome - beautiful views of the Susquehanna River. And we love the history of Penn's and the decor. Thank you everyone at Penn's Tavern!!

Penns tavern is a one of favorite places to visit on a Sunday afternoon. Bloody Mary's are always good, today I had an espresso martini and it was sooo good. The food is always great and atmosphere is welcoming! I forgot to take pictures because I was too hungry lol!

We really enjoyed this place. We didn’t have reservations but they seated us at the bar. My opinion was the best seats in the house. We had entertainment watching the bar tenders and the service was fast and excellent. Portions are large and priced well for what you get. Enjoyed very much and figure on returning.

Pleasant drive up from the DC area to join a family gathering for lunch and a few birthdays. Penns Tavern had long been a family favorite, but I had not been in all the years I'd lived in that area. Now, I've enjoyed visiting twice in just the last few months. Very charming building, plenty of great menu selections. From nice salads, savory burgers, chicken dishes, and seasoned fries (you can also ask for unseasoned). Our larger group was seated in the back room with a cozy stone fireplace, beautiful wide plank wooden floors, and windows overlooking the Susquehanna River. Looking forward to coming back again and enjoying the other sections inside and outside. I heard they also get live music and have nice outdoor seating as well.

The food was excellent !! I got the prime rib. It was cooked to perfection. They ran out of mashed potatoes, which I found odd because it was early. The cheesecake was to die for. The ranch dressing was amazing. The service we received was not so great. I think we just ended up with the wrong one. The other waitresses in the restaurant seemed to be very attentive. Ours, you didn't see. It took 25 mins just to get our drink and app order another 10 to 15 for her to bring our drinks, which was just pepsi and ice tea, then about 30 mins to get our food order. We had to find her to get our bill. People who came in after us were eating and leaving by the time we got to order. I'm not gonna hold one bad service day from them. The food was so amazing that I'll be back. Prices were reasonable for what all you got. Hope I get a good waitress next time. Reservation highly recommended. They even have a dog menu.

Bartender......well there wasn't one for us....which seems to be the norm every time we visit....this time served by server on the floor. She was decent so ill give her her Kudos. But the bartender/manager on duty should probably step up to her role.

Chose this restaurant to celebrate a friend's 80th birthday. None of us were disappointed. Liz was incredible from the minute we entered until we left. She took excellent care of us. The wait staff were courteous, attentive, and extremely hard workers. The menu was a delight for any hungry person. Their German menu complimented the Taverns's regular menu, well. The food is some of the best I've eaten in over twenty years. Not since a trip to San Francisco years ago, have I had Wiener Schnitzel this delicious. The spaetzle was homemade and a true delight. The cocktails are superb and well worth the money as the bartender does not skimp. But what is an excellent dinner without dessert? All of our desserts were well portioned and heavenly. The lemon cake was moist and melts in your mouth as the lemon filling tingles your taste buds. Their desserts will please any palate. Bottom line, if you want to taste truly outstanding food with a menu from burgers to German entrees, Penn's Tavern should be first on your list. In addition to their excellent service, food, and drinks, they offer seating overlooking the Susquehanna River while relaxing and dining at this historical waterfront restaurant. Oh, but what about ghosts in this 1700s era building, you may ask? I can not attest to any ghosts, so you'll have to grab your EMF meter and check that out yourself. Whether you stop in for a sandwich or you're meeting someone for dinner, let them know John Penn sent you! On a scale from 0-5 stars, Penn's Tavern gets 10 stars across the board. It is definitely my new favorite restaurant.

We were visiting some friends a couple of weeks ago and they treated us to your tavern. The food and service were fabulous and when we return from TX will definitely come back!
