Went tonight service was not good. One customer had to ask if anything came with dinner and then was told a salad. Rolls were stale. I had a full bison French dip. I think they must have used dried bison. I was expecting a nice juicy sandwich, not even close and the dip was very strong and salty. Our entrees were cold and had to be sent back. We were the only ones in the dining area, you would think your food should be hot. Luckily half of the tab was on a gift certificate. Not sure about going back. I have been here in the past and was satisfied. Mind you this is priced as fine dining. Disappointed!

Great food, service and atmosphere but, in my opinion, WAY overpriced for portions. The appetizer pic of 3 crab cakes were just over the size of a half dollar and for 3 was $18.

I took my mom here in December and it was great!! Great food and great service. Went back with guest in December. The service was horrible. There was a party upstairs so we sat forever for anything. Went back today because I had gift cards. We checked online and it said the dining room opened at 3pm. When we arrived at 3pm we were told there was a party(they were rude) so we had to sit in the bar. I ordered a $29 meal and was not offered any rolls for our table because I guess we were not in the dining room. The waiter never stopped back. We had to flag down a hostess to get refills on our water. I will not be back anytime soon. After the first visit I thought I found a new favorite place. The food is good but part of eating out is the service. They need to step it up in the service department!!

Expensive. $20 for a crake cake sandwich that seemed line it was from the freezer. Fries were good. Mozzarella sticks were so so. Most of the. Geese came out if the egg roll shell though. $70 for 2 lunches is a lot!!

Food was served cold. Was taken back to the kitchen. When my plate was returned, it was still cold, and everyone had finished their meal. I was not charged for diner. We received a complimentary dessert. Had them box up my dinner to reheat later.

Not very thrilled with our experience here for Christmas Eve buffet 2023. With 20% gratuity, soft drinks and tax on all of it (they the tax 20% gratuity), our $35 Christmas Eve buffet cost $50 per person. We were seated for the 1:30 seating, and when we arrived the prime rib “main event” was gone. Pies were also gone, and by 2 pm they started letting food at the buffet run out. The sausages were so dry, they crumbled apart.Six of us kind of suffered thru eating what was left, like second rate customers, and our price we paid for a buffet funded everyone else’s (who got earlier seatings) overflowing prime rib plates. We really, REALLY don’t recommend ANY buffet here unless you can book an earlier seating- otherwise you get high full- priced whatever is left after everyone else has picked over it… and they give you a short 30 minutes to get your buffet experience in before they begin closing you out.

The quality of the food is great. Unfortunately, portion size is miniscule. Dining room is so loud you have to shout across the table to be heard. They have some work to do.

Lovely place. But It took a long time to get drinks and food after ordering. Dinner plates were cool and food lukewarm, sent it back to be "miked" and still was not hot. Expected better food for the price. Friendly waitresses but lacking in training and coordination. Don't plan to return.

This place is really great. Just to know you are stepping into a place that has close to 300 years of history in our area. Also had the privilege of meeting the owner and getting him to show me the new outside seating area. Overall, it is a great place to sit down and unwind for a bit!

Our family went here for Thanksgiving Dinner. It's really not fair to grade a Restaurant on a holiday. However, the food was excellent. Drinks were delicious.Vegetarian options: Butter nut squash soup was delicious. And the butter nut ravioli was devin.Parking: Handicapped parking is close to the restaurant.

Bill L 1 Pending review Not recommended We had heard so many positive things about the restaurant at The Rising Sun Inn. We had our family Thanksgiving meal with them this year. The food was extremely disappointing. The plates were unappealing to look at, the portions were very small, and the quality of items was not very good. Dressing looked and tasted like no more than stale bread, ham was sliced razor thin, there was a thick unappealing brown gravy covering the meat on the plate. One family member ordered turkey and the dark meat portion looked and tasted like Bison meat. Cranberry sauce was so sour it was not edible. We overheard tables around us also complaining about the quality of food. Frankly, I have been served diner food that was higher quality than our meals. At $45.00 per plate we expected much better. There has been a change in chef, and not for the better.

My party of eight had a great time last night. I love what Chef Lindsey is doing with the menu. It makes the Rising Sun Inn a place where hungry people can be pleased whether they are looking for a pub burger, comfort food, or a fine dining experience. Everyone in my party loved their meals. My black bass was delicate and flavorful. I think I could have eaten about 20 of the bison poppers though! I went there often with my parents starting in the late 70's/early 80's and was introduced to Clams Casino there. My parents would certainly approve of the cuisine Chef Lindsey has created!
