V & S Sandwich Shop

This is the second time I’ve gotten from here. First time was 2 weeks ago and I got the Tuffy Delight. Turkey and roast beef with provolone cheese. Amazing!!!

This time I got the Gizmo. A cheeseburger with slices of grilled ham. Also SOOOOO GOOD. Thank you ladies for being genuinely polite as well as being able to make an amazing hoagie. You ladies definitely restored my confidence in hoagies in Berks county.

I'm originally from Pennsylvania, and every time we come to visit family, I stop by and grab some California cheesesteaks. They are so delicious sometimes I get them sent in the mail!!! 😊

I ordered a cheese steak and asked for no onions and peppers ,I got it home and it had onions and peppers. I was very disappointed!

The other V&S locations have really gone down hill in recent years, but the 5th street location remains true to their roots. Still uses original vendors and it shows. Love the food and the staff at this location.

They treat you like family they. Best cheese steaks in Berks County PA everyone should go there I would go every Sunday and they missed me when I did not go for long time

During my Lunch break on Tuesday July 15,2025 I came in to order my daily sandwich when I noticed a older women who came in with some individuals with disabilities to order food. The girl behind the counter Kaycee was not only rude to the customer but to the individuals who were there not only did she cause a scene but the manager was standing next to her and didn't say anything. The lady walked out without getting her food this establishment needs to really train their employees and realize that all individuals have a right to eat and be where they please. If you see this review don't get anything from this girl she is so rude and really unprofessional. To management this is not the only time she has done this she needs to be fired asap sadly I will be mentioning this to my friends who have family members with disabilities to not eat at this establishment.

Excellent sandwiches. Group of 10 of us. Each had the best sandwiches. Ham on roll, cheesesteak, Italian. Great place for many years.

I called to place an order to be picked up. I ordered a total of five sandwiches, four smalls, one large, I was charged for two large when I only got one large so I was overcharged. three of those sandwiches I asked for hard rolls all of the sandwiches. I believe we’re on soft rolls or they were just stale rolls to begin with. When I checked my receipt. I was charged a fee open food. Don’t know what that meant, but it was $2.89 plus I was charged tax so I’m not sure what the open food fee is for and shame on me for not checking my receipt before I left so this is why I will never go back there again and I may report this to the Better Business Bureau because I feel I was being overcharged and who knows how many other people they overcharged

My family has been ordering sandwiches from here for decades! I do not live in town so one of the first things we do when we get to Reading is stop at V & S for a cheesesteak. They are messy and delicious and there's nothing else like them!
