Spontaneous stop on a Sunday night - very glad we didn't keep driving! Excellent selection of beef, chicken and fish at very affordable prices. Family atmosphere and helpful, attentive staff. Very generous portions. Wish we had had room for dessert!

Wonderful server who checked in with us often. We got a complementary dish of bread and butter that exceeded my expectations because it included pumpkin bread in it! (yummy). The food had no real faults but I would personally have preferred more salt or something in their meatloaf to up the flavor. Pretty good prices.

portions were a bit small for the price. Salad was not cut to bite sized pieces. The half clam shell bowl salad served in made it quite difficult to cut it up. It kept wanting to tip over. Cool shaped bowl if no work involved to eat from it. lol

I am beyond disappointed. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants, a place I truly loved. But over my last four visits, the quality has gone from bad to worse. The steak is consistently tough, dry, and nearly inedible. Something has clearly changed in the kitchen—whatever it is, it has completely ruined what once made this place special. It’s heartbreaking to say this, but I no longer have any desire to come back. A restaurant I once adored has become a huge disappointment.

Had the chicken steak BLT, which is literally almost the same sandwich I ordered as a youth and still good! This restaurant has been at its current location for as long as I can remember, back to my early teens. Menu looks absolutely 100% identical with exception of the specials and I love that. So many good, solid options!! Favorites include salad in the shell shaped bowl, chicken drummers, the pumpkin bread that NEVER disappoints... if they still have teaberry gum at the checkout, grab a pack. My absolute favorite thing about this place is the rustic decor, wood and antique curiosities everywhere, high ceilings, interesting light fixtures and the forest views throughout the seasons are a special treat. 😀
