The Narrows Restaurant, Bar & Inn

Valentine’s Day dinner. I didn’t mind paying in advance to reserve our spot in the main dining room, but when we arrived—on time—there were no tables available. I was offered a seat in the mezzanine, which I declined, and ended up waiting about another 20 minutes. We eventually sat in the Canal Room.
We chose the fixed Valentine’s Day menu. After placing our orders ( appetizer, 1st, 2nd and dessert), they skipped the small appetizer and went straight to serving the second course instead of the first. The lobster came out cold and chewy in the center, and the tuna was underwhelming. They were also out of cheesecake, so my husband ended up with no dessert at all.
It was clear there was a disconnect between the kitchen and the wait staff. Our waitress did everything she could despite the chaos behind the scenes.

Great food, great atmosphere with the wood burning fireplace and great service. We went before sunset to see the beautiful view of the Delaware River on a cold winter day. Just an all around great experience.

After seen a post about canceling someone's reservation do to a big party I think you deserve this rating . Alittle of money now can lead to a lot lost later .

We had dinner last night at The Narrows. My husband and I sat at the bar waiting for our other guests (we were the only ones sitting there). Bartender kept putting the menu, wine and drink list in front of us in hopes of pacifying us until she could take our order which was 10 minutes later. She was apologetic for the wait and very polite. My meal was just terrible. I had the catfish which was sitting on cheese polenta and drowning in a very rich sauce in a bowl. I have had the catfish there before but this concoction was not even edible (I took one bite). In fact, our waitress told us that this wasn't the first complaint and that she would let the chef know. Everyone else at our table was very happy with their meals (salmon, crab cakes, green beans). My dish was taken off the bill of which I appreciate but after spending a total of $385 after the deduction (which included bar tab of $45, 2 bottles of great wine, 3 other meals and gratuity), I just expected a much better meal as The Narrows is one of our favorite restaurants. So disappointed 😞

Enjoyed a very good meal on Sunday night, and perfect service from our waitress! The pork belly appetizer was delicious, as well as the oysters! I would've given 5 stars on food, but the short rib pappardelle didn't really have much spinach and any brussel sprouts to speak of, maybe half of one . Please add them in, 😂, I would've enjoyed some veggies in my meal. Otherwise tasty and husband's fried chicken was very good.

I’m hesitant (LOL 😂) to leave a review if it will add to a wave of interest for this INCREDIBLE, Under the Radar gem…you cannot imagine the unique, one of a kind character that this place has. Service is amazing, the staff are lovely, genuine, happy and real! The location is so beautifully unique and River-Heaven….as amazing as it is, what is inside creates a warm, cozy, calming palette for an afternoon/evening of peace. Best way I can say it. If they have that fire going, you’ll be transported to a window of peace by the river that few places can hope to promise. Staff are amazing, real and friendly :) Can’t imagine how it will be in the Spring/Summer. English/Irish genuine pub …This place is an absolute gem. 💎

So cozy in the colder months with the fires going + superb artisan seasonal dishes. Beautiful setting overlooking the Delaware - this spot built in 1812 is loaded with character, creative drink + food + excellent Custer service. Narrows is 🔥 on all cylinders 👌🏼

Went with my gf today to the Narrows Restaurant for first time.
I ordered the soup of the day with a non alcoholic drink and my gf got a burger with fries and a beer.
The non alcoholic drink was delicious
The fries were excellent
The soup was subpar
And the burger was okay, the pattie was burned, seemed like they rushed it or had heat on high. It wasn’t well done as my gf ordered but it was sufficient. I personally liked it except for the fact it tasted burnt.
The waiter was very nice and the service and atmosphere were great.
The beer was also pretty good.
We will probably not go back ever but definitely loved the drink called Buttercup.

We had such a great time at this restaurant! 🍔🥗 Our waiter, August, was an absolute gem — so friendly. The burgers were juicy, to die for and the salads with goat cheese balls were fresh Everything was delicious. Definitely going back. 😋👏
