Different Cheesesteak #1191. This was a good day to be me. I’ve driven by Johnny B’s hundreds of times and never once considered stopping in. That was a mistake. Hundreds of mistakes???? Bigger inside than it looks from outside. Old heavy wood decor. Bartender was great. Five’ish regulars at the bar on a Tuesday at 4 pm. Very good cheesesteak. Comes with chips and a pickle. You can tell a lot of thought and care went into making this cheesesteak. The mushrooms had a great description on the menu. I would have liked more from them. Great guest eater, Steve R, creator of the Cheesesteak Christmas tree ornament.

Great local spot to watch games, have some drinks and the food is really becoming the star here! Amazing sandwiches, burgers, apps and one of the best cheesesteaks in Delco. The chef is super creative and always coming up with new specials and all is homemade in house. The parking situation can be tricky but just be extra safe by grabbing an Uber!

Johnny B's: A Hidden Gem in Delco
From the road, you might never guess that Johnny B's is one of the best bars in Delaware County. With limited parking and no designated lot, it could be easy to overlook. But once you step inside, it’s clear this is no ordinary “hole in the wall.” The bar boasts high ceilings, traditional stained wood trim reminiscent of a classic Irish pub, and a fresh, rotating tap list that feels like a craft beer lover’s dream.
I stopped in for a pumpkin ale while waiting for my pickup order and caught a bit of the Phillies game. The place was naturally packed, but despite the crowd, it felt welcoming and spacious. Located just around the corner from me in Springfield, Johnny B’s is sure to become my new go-to bar spot. With two levels (though I didn’t make it upstairs), it's clear this place is set up to handle the buzz, especially on game nights.
Now, onto the food! My family had been craving cheesesteaks, and we’d heard Johnny B’s had some of the best in the area. We ordered online through their website using Toast (super easy, by the way), and opted for a variety of full-sized sandwiches: Mushroom Steak, Brisket Cheesesteak, Chicken Cheesesteak, and a side of Wedges.
Let me tell you, these cheesesteaks did not disappoint. The Mushroom Steak was absolutely phenomenal — easily on par with the best Philly cheesesteaks I've had (and as a West Philly native, that's saying something). Packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and piled high with Cooper Sharp cheese, every bite was heaven. My personal favorite might be the Brisket Cheesesteak, though. The brisket was shredded, smoky, and the bell pepper medley was a brilliant touch.
Even the Chicken Cheesesteak was a hit — my 8-year-old devoured it with a side of Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey Mustard before I could even get a real taste. The chicken itself was those refreshing, proper slab-style cuts (you know the kind).
All the sandwiches came on what I believe were Lucio's rolls, a solid choice to hold up to the massive quantity of ingredients. And massive they were — we’re a family of five, and we had plenty of leftovers. Prices were more than fair for the quality and quantity of food.
Johnny B’s isn’t just a solid spot for great cheesesteaks — it’s got a great atmosphere, friendly crowd, and is priced just right. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Food and service are fantastic. Got the brisket cheesesteak and the potato wedges and both were phenomenal. It's a bar, so the atmosphere isn't a 5 Star restaurant, but clean and friendly. Will definitely be back!

Stopped in for a quick lunch today at a spot that I had been hearing good things about, Johnny B's, on garret rd, in upper darby/drexel hill> It's a small, dive bar, but appears homey, and very inviting. The lunch menu was simple bar type food, sandwiches, salads, tacos, etc..., and they offered several types of burgers. They also offer daily specials, a Game meat night, and I noticed a Yak burger on the board from yesterday's offerings. Today, they had seafood specials...snow crab clusters, and peel tequilla shrimp. A simple bar menu yes, but everything prepared by a skilled, gastro pub chef. I had the mushroom guyere burger, w arugula, and fried onions. It was seasoned and seared perfectly on both ends, and the middle was a nice med rare. The meat quality was wayyy above average, and they took the effort to grill the brioche roll. Sorry, I dont have a photo share, as I inhaled it quickly. But it was burger perfection...this place is a true hidden gem.

Highly recommend. One of the Best cheesesteaks I’ve had. I got the Steele cheesesteaks. The cheese tastes pretty delicious with the steak. I ordered a full steak however was full from just 1/2 the sandwich. I’ll definitely be trying more stuff from this spot. Very friendly staff as well.

This is by far the best cheesesteak I’ve ever had. Came here with my wife and father-in-law. Amazing service and crazy good food. Parking is a little tough to get to and the drink menu could use a few sours but overall it’s a 10/10 would visit again place. The owner and the waitress made us feel super welcome and were open to suggestions which is always nice.
