A place where you find grandma's from scratch cake. Service always pleasant and clean store. I enjoy watching the Bakers making baked goods. Everyone seem happy.
I order cakes from them for every occasion however, as of lately, the cakes are not fresh. I’ve ordered cakes in advance and picked cakes up that are advertised as freshly baked. Yet these cakes have been stale. Because this has become a pattern I felt it’s best to leave a review.

No matter the occasion I use Sophisticakes. My expectation is always succeeded so I thought nothing of it this time around. I ordered two cakes for my daughter’s birthday. I specifically asked for red writing and a princess and specified I needed her cupcake cake shaped in the number 2 to say #thatgirlwesley because it is her brand. The writing on the cake was purple and had no princess which matched nothing in the theme. I honestly believe a same day cake was just written on. The cake didn’t say #thatgirlwesley. I called to express my concern. I was dismissed and the mistake was put on poor communication and I was told if I was the one to pick it up I wouldn’t have had this problem. I understand you have many customers, however every customer should be treated with decency. It was very disappointing and ruined the aesthetic of the dessert table. It always taste good but if you communicate what you want it should be reflected. I will be less likely to purchase from here for my next occasion.

My family has been coming to this bakery for over 15 years, and I’m very disappointed with the service I recently received. I ordered a strawberry shortcake for my boyfriend’s birthday, and unfortunately, the cake had no flavor at all.
When I called to share my concern, I was told I’d have to wait two days to hear back from the owner. When she finally called, she only explained the process of how the cake was made, saying it used a macerated strawberry filling — but the strawberries weren’t sweetened and had no taste. You can tell that there was no sugar added to this cake at all. It was awful!
I politely asked for a partial refund or store credit, but she was unpleasant and dismissive, telling me “it is what it is” and that it didn’t matter if I didn’t like the cake. After years of loyalty, I’m extremely disappointed and will not be returning to this bakery again.

Sad to say, I truly believe that they are purchasing their products from a factory and reselling them. The whole cakes are most likely being sent frozen, then they decorate them. The slices seem frozen, then shrink wrapped by a machine before being shipped to them. They are costly because their profit is added to the cost and shipping fees.

Drove a two-hour round trip to try this bakery. We picked up four cupcakes and a pre-made chocolate chip pound cake. We tried the cupcakes and they were amazing and delicious! The cake on the other hand was dry, crumbly and ashy. Couldn't even finish one piece. The next day I called twice, failed to get through to anyone and left a voicemail (automated voice msg says they will get back to you the next day). The next day comes never heard back and again called twice and never got through to anyone. A couple of days have gone past and I have heard from no one. Disappointed to say the least, had very high expectations.
