Wilson’s is undergoing some menu changes, planning to go back and experience more in the future.

Corn nuggets were delicious unfortunately all I could stomach being sick. I tried the cornbread too, definitely my favorite part it was super moist!

My boyfriend enjoyed the ribs and fries. He didn’t like the Mac and cheese it had too much garlic for my liking.

Vegetarian options: Noticed vegetation section on the menu

Food was really good with big portions. One platter is enough for two people! Everything was a 5/5, and even the ribs that I took home was still tender after I reheated it lol

Absolutely amazing, to start, the place is beautiful and spotless. The second we walked in the door we were greeted, The staff was so professional and friendly. We ordered takeout and I could not Get over the generous portions, as well as the smell alone of the food. I could not wait to get home to eat! As for the food, I’ve never had better barbecue in my life, and I love barbecued food!

If you want good quality food at a great price, excellent service, and knowing that your food is from a Spotless restaurant, this is the place to go.

I cannot wait to go back and try everything else on the menu!! Thank you, Wilson’s, According to my boyfriend, I may never have To cook again🤣

My son and I just had an A+ delicious lunch at the just-reopened Wilson's Secret Sauce barbecue restaurant in Upper Darby. We shared a smoked beet salad and a brisket platter, which came with good portions of cole slaw and baked beans, as well as some pickles and cornbread. Also brought home a pulled pork sandwich for my wife. The cost was $52. Due to recent renovations, the room is now cozier. It was very much a takeout spot before. And you can, of course, order takeout. But now it's the kind of place where you can go for a relaxing meal, bring a bottle of wine or a six pack of your favorite beer, and linger for a while. I'll definitely be back soon.

Vegetarian options: The menu is going through some changes. The new menu has a limited number of vegetarian options, but the restaurant is running specials featuring popular dishes from their old menu, including vegetarian and vegan dishes.

Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly

They just renovated the interior and it looks very nice inside! The food was also great. Their menu is more simple than before for dine-in, but the option they have are solid. The owner came up to our table to check how the food came out which was extremely courteous. Wilson’s will always be a go-to spot for us. Overall, great experience.

Dietary restrictions: Some vegan options on their new menu.

Wilson’s has kicked us out when they had no one in the restaurant. For the excuse that they weren’t seating anymore when we hey close in 1 hour. Today we went there and we saw it was closed because they were renovating. There were no signs on the building, and we had to ask the people who were rennovating. They said they were open on google and the website.

Update
March 18, 2025:

The owner posted an apology on Facebook regarding the unprofessional reviews, and has acknowledged they are wanting to do better.

I hope this remodel really turns their business around and brings them success. 💕

March 11, 2025:

We were in the area on our way back from a trip and decided to stop here for dinner.

I loved my cheesecake but wasn't a huge fan of its crust.

My mac and cheese and broccoli were also very good. The wings were ok. A little disappointing, but not awful. I had to take the rest of my food to go because the portions were big, and I get full fast on my glp-1. So I haven't had a chance to eat the rest yet. It should last me several meals.

The interior and exterior were a little run-down, and the colors were a bit of an eyesore, but I also just have an extreme dislike for the color red.

The bathroom was dark and hideous, had no paper towels, and the blow dryer was so low power that I had to go back to my table and get napkins to dry my hands.

The place was kind of small and didn't seat a whole lot of people.

A little too casual. More of a casual "stop for lunch or takeout" kind of place, and not as much like a "go out to dinner" kind of place, if that makes sense.

The server did mention that they are closing to remodel in a couple of days.

The servers were very pleasant, even though we were waiting a while, both to be seated and to get our food.

They don't sell alcohol unfortunately. :(

I can't wait to come back and see the place when they're done remodeling!

I definitely would stop here again, even without the remodel.

Also, reading other reviews, I'm not a big fan of businesses responding to customer reviews in a way that shows them publicly trying to argue about or justify food and service issues.

The responses to Saundra Riley, and other reviewers, were very unprofessional.

Definitely not a fan of the "you did, you said, you're wrong, this is fake, you were, you dont live here, youre clueless, lol" responses. Pointing the finger, denying responsibility, making excuses, etc. The review responses actually disgust me. You can do better.

I would Google or use chat GPT how to sound more professional when responding to negative customer feedback, even if you feel like they are lying, exaggerating, or just plain fake. Customers don't need to hear your side of the story. They want to see how you handle issues.

It just makes your business look bad to see the owner arguing, talking down to, or invalidating a customers experience in the reviews, and will keep them from coming back, or other customers from wanting to eat there.

Strongly disagree with the way the owner responds to negative reviews, and that alone would make me want to avoid a place of business if I saw it in advance.

I hope the remodel includes your professionalism.

See the notes below for my comments on the Vegan/Vegetarian options, and wheelchair accessibility.

Vegetarian options: As for the vegan/vegetarian menu, it was a little confusing.

Shrimp was on it, which I wouldn't call vegetarian.

It also said "lactose-free cheese." Lactose-free milk/cheese does not mean vegan. Lactose-free dairy is just milk from the cow, but with the lactose removed for lactose intolerant people.

All vegan cheese/milk is lactose-free, but not every "lactose-free" milk/cheese is vegan.

Wheelchair accessibility: Tables were kinda of close together. Not sure if wheelchair accessible.

I ordered the brisket platter with potatoe salad and baked beans , and lemonade … the brisket was tender but lacked flavor .. the potatoe salad was hard as if it was under cooked , and the lemonade was super bland the best thing were the baked beans

We ordered two platters - half rack of ribs with broccoli and mac n cheese and the brisket with beans and mac. The ribs were quite tough and smelled like liquid smoke or something, the sauce wasn’t like normal ribs. The Mac on both lacked any seasoning so we had to add our own and the broccoli was basically completely charred. The brisket was the only thing that was pretty good, the beans were okay.

We ordered the cheesesteak brisket and the half rack of ribs. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either. The ribs and brisket were on the dry side and could have used more seasoning. I think it could have benefited from extra BBQ sauce. I might give the cheesesteak brisket another try, but with more sauce next time. Overall, the food was just okay

When you think about philadelphia, barbecue, definitely isn't the first thing on your mind, but this place right here has changed that for me. The ribs. Soup literally everything is the best. So full of flavor and smokeyness. Also, the customer service is unmatched- sincerely the t shirt guy.
