Absolutely fantastic evening with my wife. The food is outstanding. We had the grilled watermelon which was totaling surprising. The Smokey Spell burger was superb. Wish I had room to eat 2 of them, it was so good.My wife built her own dinner using the tailor made platter and the Honey Cake for desert. Order it at the beginning of your meal so it is done when you're done. Our server Daniel, was friendly and personable and on top of everything. A pretty busy evening there, not an empty table

This place is a hidden gem! Excellent food and friendly, helpful service. We had a great experience. Our bar drinks were so good. Loved the burrata and honey cornbread. Our party had steaks, the filet d'sturgeon, brisket, and duck breast for entrees. The meats were high quality and perfectly cooked. The delicious meat was topped off by the AMAZING honey cake. We highly recommend and definitely plan to return!

My daughters and I had lunch here to celebrate the upcoming birth of one daughter. We had a really nice time here. The waitress was professional, kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The bar menu had some tasty drinks and the lunch menu had just enough choices. We had the brisket which is one item they are known for. We all agreed it was delicious and our husbands will need to dine with us next time. We had brought a cake to celebrate but knew we needed to try a slice of the honey cake which gets rave reviews. It did not disappoint! Upon bringing out the cake we asked them to hold in the kitchen for us, the waitress, bar manager, and chef came out to celebrate with us. They had a gift for my expectant daughter, which was extremely thoughtful. Here to say this should not be expected when noting a ‘celebration' in the reservation but for whatever reason, we were delighted. We will be back! Great people, great food and a great price.

We recently discovered Owl's Nest, tucked away at Frost Valley Golf Links, and what a great find! The setting feels like a hidden gem — relaxed, scenic, and welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious — an unexpected and creative mix of barbecue and something uniquely their own. Every dish had great flavor and was clearly made with care. The drink menu is just as interesting and fun, with some really creative options you don't see everywhere. Dessert was amazing, the perfect sweet finish to the meal. I also really appreciated that they were able to accommodate gluten-free options without any issue. Overall, Owl's Nest is a wonderful surprise — great food, great drinks, and a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to come back again soon.

I've been to a lot of places that have barbecue before so I say this based on experience. For the price, I thought the portions were small, the meats were not hot nor the sides. The brisket soup bowl that I had did not have any meat other than three chunks of fat that may have been cut off of the brisket. The side of french fries tasted like it was cooked in older oil. I would also recommend stop with the full court press upfront for alcohol.

The food is delicious and the service was top notch. I Will absolutely be back soon. I had the filet, my husband had the brisket. The cocktails are fun and unique. The honey cake dessert was AMAZING- it pairs with your choice of black tea or portable wine. Highly recommend!
I’m not usually one to write reviews, but this place absolutely deserved a moment. From start to finish, everything was outstanding — from our beautiful drinks and fresh, delicious salad to our flavorful entrées and decadent desserts. There’s no wonder we proudly joined (most of) the clean plate club!
My husband even said it was the best meal he’s had in years — and I couldn’t agree more. The atmosphere was cozy yet elevated, and the service? Next level. When we mentioned it was our anniversary and asked for a quick photo, our waiter, Daniel, showed up with a ring light! Who does that?! It was such a thoughtful touch that made the night even more memorable.
If you haven’t been to Owl’s Nest yet, do yourself a favor and go. Exceptional food, impeccable service, and the kind of experience that makes you want to come back before you’ve even left.

I'm not willing to 5 star the food but it was really close. The experience itself, while it was somewhat empty as we went late at night, was just amazing. The place is adorable. Our server and host was simply the best we have ever had in Pittsburgh; it is the way some other cities and countries have staff that consider this a profession and not just a job. The music was killer. The cigar bar next door is a great touch. It isn't inexpensive, not should it be. The Chef clearly loves what he does, cares about what he does, and offers a top 10 Pittsburgh dining experience. We will be back many times. Thank you.

My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and we enjoyed a nice date night with dinner and drinks! The food tasted amazing and each staff member we encountered was so sweet and friendly. We were well taken care of. The portions were generous and I needed a doggy bag. My husband said his brisket was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We will definitely be back.
