LaScala's Fire Villanova

The environment is too loud, one of our entrees arrived before the appetizer, and the food was mediocre.

Very busy on a Saturday night but made reservations and were seated at our appointment time if not earlier . The maitre de taking people to their tables was excellent - friendly and very efficient. Our server was very good, attentive and personable. We accidentally broke a glass and both our server and the maitre de came right away and cleaned up everything. The food was very good. The restaurant was very nice and clean. Recommend this place for service, food and the establishment itself.

Although we had a 5:45 reservation we were not seated until after 6. Noise level is very high as well as the light level. Lights should be dimmed for dinner crowd. Food was very good and service was good.

Our service with Shane was very good but the food was not great! I ordered the chicken Marsala and it was dry, the sauce was basically consommé soup and didn't have any of the Marsala sauce (soup) on it. I ordered more of it, and it came literally in a big soup bowl! So disappointing..the Caesar's salad was good, and the cookie/ice cream dessert was good too. My friend ordered the lemon chicken with capers, and she said, very bland, not much taste. She didn't want to go here in the first place but I said let's try it. I'm sorry we did

Food was excellent as was the service, particularly since there was a Villanova basketball game the night we were there and the restaurant was full

The food and experience at this restaurant were fantastic! However, it can get quite busy and noisy. The food was amazing, and our waitress was incredibly attentive and friendly. My only two minor complaints are that the knife for cutting the chicken was quite flimsy, and the cannolis were not completely filled. The middle was essentially empty. Despite these small issues, I thoroughly enjoyed my main course and the dessert was delicious.

The restaurant is more upscale than I expected, but the experience was great. What impressed me was that the waitress ran outside with our food that we forgot to take with us! Thank you!

Very disappointing experience at the Villanova location. We arrived when the restaurant was basically empty and they sat us directly next to the kitchen doors. Within two minutes of sitting down we were asked if we were ready to order. Main dish of one person at the table came out before the appetizer. We planned on splitting the appetizer so we asked how many pieces came with the appetizer and the waitress gave us incorrect information. The appetizer came out with 2 out of the other main dishes. The fourth main dish came out 5 minutes after the other main dishes and was wrong (most likely from the waitress not writing the order down when it was being taken). Fourth main dish (which needed to be remade) came out 20 minutes after everyone else was done with their meals. We were charged extra for subbing out the pasta side for mixed vegetables although not told or stating this upcharge on the menu. Mixed vegetables were heavily salted and in this soupy mess. It was more like a soup - basically inedible. Waitress never checked on the table unless we flagged her down. All in all, not a good experience at all, especially given the high price for mediocre food and bad service.
