Another delicious dinner at the Refectory! The manager Darcy took the time to provide me with a personalized menu that noted which food items did not contain the foods to which I am allergic. The service was prompt and had us out well before game time. I also enjoyed a drink at the bar in advance. The bartenders were friendly and my modified mocktail was delicious.
Always fun at the refectory on game day. Would appreciate a few more simple menu items, more “bar” foods for the kitchen to turn out quickly.
Two people dined for a birthday dinner celebration. Our waitress was very attentive and did a great job. We ordered the fresh oysters and deviled eggs for appetizers. Our entrees were the filet and the baked cod. All of the food was delicious. We'll definitely return to this restaurant.
Great find. The food was fantastic. I had the chicken parm and my wife had the beet raviolis. We also had the cesar salad and tuna tartar. All was great. We got lost a bit with the service with a few folks juggling us but they made up for any delays with a complementary app. Well done and we will be back soon.
We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday for the first time! What an amazing place this is! Definitely a hidden Gem! Our waiter Nagi was great ! He was very nice, polite and friendly. We had a free dessert as welll! The food was excellent and the service was great! I will definitely come back and tell everyone to come here . The food presentation was amazing as well ! A simple salad was an art piece and the Bronzino was delicious . Can't wait to try other dishes there! I will recommend it. It's a 5 star in my book! I travel all over the world and eat in amazing places so I can recognize a great place and this is one of them.
We always struggle with this place. Service is average, food is average. Party of 4 last night, took 30 minutes to get our drinks and an hour for the food. Better options on the Mainline.
As always, the service was impeccable. But something about the food was just “off..” We tried the salmon appetizer and found it bland. We also had the calamari, which had a couple of larger rings but mostly small tiny pieces and it was a kind of burned. The bacon wrapped dates we didn't enjoy it all. (I had a piece of bacon that had so much undercooked fat, I almost spit it out.) Too bad. We love this restaurant and we will continue to come back, but there was something about that night just a little off
Very dependable menu and food presentation. There is a lot from which members of a group can choose. Everyone should be happy. We were there early and got great service from Jessie. As the room filled in we were not rushed at the table even though we stayed maybe 15 minutes after paying our bill and coffee in order to watch the end of the Eagles game. Great hospitality.
Perfect spot across from Villanova. Easy enough to choose something that works for veggie eaters (with omisions.) The mushroom flatbread was fabulous especially without that ubiquitous Truffle Oil!, The Refectory has an easy vibe spacious & nice tables for 2 near the windows. All staff on point! Went for sunday lunch again w/girfriend but past Salmon Burgers were jucier thicker cut & bread less soggy. The lovely 'on point' server did her best to tell kitchen 'no bacon' it was still included -we did not make a fuss & just picked it out. Otherwise would totally return & order future salnom on a long dense baguette toasted avoiding soggy Focaccia or other soft bread! I hope!
Made reservations for new years eve and took my mom, wife and kids. Found the place on open table, never heard of it before and didnt know what to expect being right in the heart of villanova. The ambiance was warming, our waitress-Alexis was awesome. She recommended some good platters and took great photos of our table for us. The cheese steak egg rolls, Brussels sprouts, and calamari we started off with and got a bread basket which all hit the spot and everyone enjoyed. Our entres were even better lobster linguine was terrific as was the scallops and cod. I cant wait to go back and try the other dishes. Very satisfied and highly recommend.

Absolutely delicious mussels with yummy caesar salad. Kitchen was able to add anchovies to the salad!
Servers were great on a slow Tuesday Night. You never get a bad meal at The Refectory and parking is validated in the garage.
We come here quite a bit but the menu is very tired. Feels it hasn't changed in the past several years. Would love to see periodic variations.
The food & service were excellent. We had Madison as our server & she was very good & attentive. Fortunately we went for Sunday Brunch during Villanova's Winter break so it was not busy. The Mushroom Flatbread was very good. Great flavor. Madison recommended the Brussel Sprouts with Bacon & Apples. These had a great smoky flavor. My friend had the Brisket Omelette & enjoyed it. My Bloody Mary was also very good. I highly recommend The Refactory & will be back when I'm in the area.
A nice place to have a quiet lunch, even if the noise level does sometimes seem excessive. Staff is friendly and helpful, prices are reasonable, and food is very good.
